just make a lot of alts and make test maps on there
oh… thats not good, maybe you could take one of the maps, and build somewhere to the side? away from the actual game?
I worked hard on these maps (ima just pretend my GimTuber’s life didnt exist)
Scratch is block coding and does not have a memory limit I think, unlike gimkit that has a memory limit.
well make a 3chuck game to start
no, actually it does, its just very large
Why don’t you put a giant barrier in front of the player and make everything very big, giving the illusion of being close and in first person? I’ve seen games do this and make it work.
it doesn’t. I’m working on a FNF remake and it has over 12000 blocks.
Gimkit can only work on a much smaller scale.
edit: @Ian_is_a_yay none- but it’s not all by me
yes, but we’re trying to find out how to make it functional
0-0
Did you, put an extra zero, or two extra zeros
I’m pretty sure Apoll02, but they don’t get on anymore.
Bro what how in the world is monopoly related to this. It is really simple if you give it some thought, it’s just using basic knowledge.
Complex is not equal to difficult.
If you’re hinting at how long it’s taken me, then you’re being extremely rude. Thank be for making the game, don’t laugh at me for my procrastination.
And a few days making chess? Please. I’d like to see you try.
Good idea. I almost completed this task, but at the very end I got a very annoying bug that ruined the whole thing, rendering the whole game useless. I started a guide, but deleted it along with the map.
Similar to my thoughts given on the auto runner topic. Let’s be fair, gimkit is 2d, accept it. This will have to be barrier or text generated, nothing else about it. However, you can have the player do things in the background to test it.
Why did I not think of this. Oh well, plates work.
If you wanna use twice the memory.
Thank you!
Nope. I used buttons on all possible squares for mine too.
Problem is that once the prop is destroyed it can’t be put back, so then we couldn’t tell if they fired that way again.
Just put the text over the player, not to the side with a camera point. Because then you’d need different camera points for each player, this way just spawn all players far enough apart.
Alright time for a long rant.
So yeah for now I’ll be using text.
Basically, all of the text is overlayed above the player, on their screen. All we need to do is change the color of each pixel.
Now of course we run into memory limits, but more importantly, lag limits.
Don’t forget programs like scratch has a ton of servers, and very good servers.
So it’s be very pixelated.
Now, for detecting different things, we can detect firing via a lifecycle. We would need to use sentries to detect being hit. Now they fire back, but it’s a simple solution, we just put the player inside of a circular barrier, and bam, one way firing.
Detecting movement is even easier. We just use teleporters. When they go through, groups send them back to their original position. Now that I think about it, we can even have a camera view so their screen stays the same. Now those teleporters broadcast to let us know they moved left, right, or jumped (assuming they can’t fly).
In fact, the only hard part is tracking each player’s location and rendering it into the system. A one-player game would be incredibly easier to make, but multiplayer is going to be practically impossible, especially with limits.
But this all disregards the hardest obstacle this research has to face, and the reason it will fail: Lagging.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Don’t ever mock Helpian Monopoly again, I can delete it if that’s how y’all feel.
The essay is finnaly finished ;-;
Most of it was scrolling through responding to various people, the end was quick.
Wha? Is…is that an answer? I’m confused ![]()
Edit: okaaaaaaaayy.
At first, I was going to use the shield prop.
No, I was thanking you for actually paying attention and for making me know I wasn’t the only one who knew that it was completely unrelated and useless.
soooo… what are you saying? that we should shut this down?
so make a pixel art machine?
No, but what I’m saying is that y’all are wasting your time because this is destined to fail. Research can be researched but it’s just a waste of the minutes on the clock. Why try if you can’t succeed? I’m extremely pessimistic by the way so yeah sorry guys y’all can try but I ain’t helping because I know what’s gonna happen just like 99% of other research topic (thanks to Inky for making me realize).
Good luck.
I believe this topic has been resolved or is worthy of closing. Unless it is deemed otherwise.
