What type of creative games are fun to play nowadays?

I want to know what type of game to make next any ideas

I might have a idea…

Make one of those simulators where you get ending like what i made, its called ending simulator

The best types of games in my opinion are solo mode. It’s easier than getting a bunch of friends together, and you generally get to play it more often.

Try making something unique, like a factory simulator, or space survival game

DO NOT however make any type of game that has “endings” [1]
They’re unsatisfying, repetitive, grindy, and a general fad that needs to stop

  1. like a 3am game ↩︎

(insane yap session incoming!!!)

It’s honestly just scattered. GKC is a large platform, so many people have different tastes, but I could help you a bit.

I suggest not making brainrot games, as those are avoiding for obvious reasons. Put effort into your work.

Here’s some not to dos: Brainrot (as stated), overused concepts like 3am games, which are very looked down apon, and just plain and boring games.

I suggest: Don’t check trending for ideas, as usually It just has “Look” and “Pls Play” games, which will not benefit your search. I suggest looking through community picks and playing those games and seeing the quality.

To make a popular game, it needs to be interactive, fun, and overall effort put into it. Don’t just put down some terrain and make some RP game and expect 1000s of plays. Now, let’s do some research!

Wow, look at those high quality games! Community picks is a great place to start!

These are popular games with lots of effort put into them.

Now, let’s look at the genres. Huh…it’s quite spread out…? So…how are we supposed to find an appealing genre? That’s the neat part! you dont.

Steven Pope on LinkedIn: How does a seller keep SFP and not ship on the weekends? That's the neat…

Gimkit has a large amount of different tastes, so there isn’t really a specific genre you can do to appeal everyone, but some common ones are capture the flags, tag, parkour, battle royal, but those are so…BASIC!!!

conclusion:
no specific genre, make it unique, put some effort, and do your best!

(LISTEN TO WYWY, ENDING GAMES WILL GET YOU NO WHERE)

Most 3am games have endings, like meet your crush at 3am, go to the store at 3am, etc.

Yes, and they’re all play-farming, trendy, grindy, boring, brain-rot games

Honestly my game doesnt use skibidi and any brainrot content

Also mine doesnt actually have a genre i just added stuff like a shop and this random junkyard(both of those dont actually have a ending)

I may use that junkyard in the future…

let’s not start an off topic tangent lol.
if you put effort into game, not matter what it is, you’ll do fine

There are definitely bad “simulators”, but there can be good ones, if you try to make it the best you can.
People are gonna judge you, so don’t fold into their comments, and do what you want to do.

I do actually put effort in my games

then your game will most likely be good that simple

3AM games and ending games are not your way to go. Do anything, not brainrot, have a hooking thumbnail, juicy lore, and a lot of effort and you’ll do great!

You could make an escape room

Escape rooms are more fun with other people. A solo RPG is the way to go imo

I actually do have lore (i made a boss fight which HAS 10 WAVES of gims trying to defeat you and is pure choas) (his name is the enternal sleep)

this is such a positive chat

You could make a recreation of a fun game that people love but turn it into a gimkit game
or make a game based on what you see the community like
