Tutorial On How To Make A Npc With An Needed Item To Pass

Hello, this is my guide I reformatted it too be correct I hope I helped you and you can understand the guide ok

Devices You will Need

  • Barrier
  • 2Checkers
  • Button
  • Item Granter
  • Sentry
  • Spawn Pad
  • Pop-Up
Settings in Each Device

In the Item Granter you will do grant -1 and grant when receiving on Grant

In the first Checker you will do recieve on check and if fail transmit on fail if passes transmit on Grant also, it will measure the item of your choice and do Equal to

For the 2nd checker you will do the first settings the same but minus the receiving and on the second it will be Greater than instead of Equal to 1

You will connect the 2 starting with the one Equal to using a wire with these settings

For the barrier all you have to do is this

For the button all you do is this and swap snowball with your choice of item

For the pop up you will make it receive on fail and do the text as any you want it is a pop up that happens if you don’t have the item

The item spawner is just for a test so do what ever you need to pass or just don’t do

For the Sentry and Player spawn all you will need is to set it to team one so it doesn’t attack. Also, for the Sentry you can make it deactivate when receiving on Grant so it looks like it ran off

If you did all the steps correctly it should look like this
Also, I resized the barrier so it is bigger

In-game look

If you are here you are done I’m just showing how it should look like if you did it corrctly

This is the pop-up if you don’t have the item

This is the button to give the item

Ok, I’m gonna be totally honest here. These are simply opinions. (Note: i haven’t done a dupe check yet, so yeah.)

Ok, first off: the grammer mistakes. :police_car: This really caught my eyes, and just made things harder to read. Which leads to my second thing: this guide is not structured properly imo. I read it, and I’m still like, what? I don’t get it. It’s hard to read, and the grammer errors just make it worse.

Overall, 2/10.no offense, again these are my opinions. If my fellow forumers would like to add on, go ahead. Going to do a dupe check now. Peace :victory_hand:

Edit:alr you’re good, not a dupe as other one does not have pictures and is different from the way you did it.

This is like the 5th decent guide since the TL4 Demotion Calamity aka the First Government Shutdown of the GKC Forums, good job!:+1::+1:

Everyone has different opinions so no. At some point someone’s gonna come along and put up 5/5 ngl, given the current state of the forums. So yeah.

Nope, they just read my post. :person_shrugging:

First guide? Pretty decent!

These are some things I can point out without even reading everything:

  1. Need more of an intro
  2. Your “Setup” dropdown is the finished product??? Try organizing everything a little bit better
  3. I hate reading big paragraphs, maybe use bullet points to point out the key things instead of writing a paragraph each step…

I would give this a 5/10 rating but don’t sweat it!
It’s creative and it seems like you know what your doing, keep up the good work!

Yep, same.

Okay, that explains it. Maybe put a lil more effort and time in it before posting it next time! =D

uhhh

yo am I being too nice or something…

Did you just read the future…

Just a few problems
1.so basically, if you give the item to the sentry, it disappears, and thats it? Sentries don’t have collision, and thus can’t block the player, and since they are on the player’s team, deactivating it simply does nothing that helps the player advance
2.if item spawner is just for test, then why did you put it in the required devices? If it is just for test why would you put it in the instructions? It didn’t confuse me but it will confuse somebody
3.the spawn pad is usually not included in guides not related to spawning, because, well, they are not related to spawning
4.the vending machine costs 125 memory while the item granter and checker combined costs 70, so you wasted 55 memory
5.0 punctuation
6.what do the barriers do? Decoration purposes?
7.the interactive menu from the vending machine is usually not called a wire, and few people consider it to be named as such, leading to potential confusion
8. If you accidentally did something wrong in your setup for the guide, that’s alright, but delete the images of the wrong steps
9. Instead of needing an item to get by, you used the item and it is taken away, which is very different
10. You do not need to list out every option that does not need to be changed, instead, say that nothing else is to be changed

Okay pretty good, but HUMOR :sob: and grammar too

I put 4/5-

yk you can change the size of barriers or other porps/devices
Click on them, then in the bottom left corner

you can save on memory like that

Ok everyone I will re edit it to all of your suggestions

Honestly, you don’t even need a vending machine. Just use a checker, way more memory efficient
