The updated guide to making a bounty system!

Hello, and welcome back to yet another guide by yours truly!


Before I get started though, I have to mention that I have done a guide on this before, but it wasn’t the best. There were a lot of issues with it. For example, it would only target the triggering player, even if the block code set the triggering player to random. I couldn’t figure it out for the longest time, until now! The only reason I’m remaking it is because of the most recent update to GKC, so thank you Josh! Anyways, let’s get started!


What you'll need

Knockout manager x1
Game Overlay x1
Relay x1
Item Granter x1
Dialogue x1
Character x1

Ps. You can substitute the character and dialogue for a button if you want.


Step 1

Place a character and wire it to a dialogue.
Have the dialogue with these settings:


Then wire the dialogue to the relay like this:

Have the Relay have these settings:

Step 2

Next, wire the relay to the game overlay like so


Then, have the game overlay with this block code:

Step 3

Next, wire the knockout manager to the game overlay like this:


Then wire the knockout manager to an item granter like this,

and set the item to whatever you want the reward to be.

Step 4 (Optional)

Place a Waypoint and have it with these settings:


Lastly, put this on the Knockout Manager:


And now you’re done! Great job!


There are some minor issues to note, like you get the reward for eliminating anyone and not just the target. I couldn’t make it the random person chosen by the relay.
Also, trigger won’t work as a substitute for the character and dialogue, because the game overlay uses the triggering player, so using a button is the only other option, because interacting and triggering are two different things.


Other than that, rate my guide!

I like how you coded with the Triggering Player's Name instead of “bounty here”!

Question, could this be done with Waypoints, now that they show the Gim?

Try doing this if you don’t have the season ticket. I just used a character because it’s fancy.
