The knockout message isn't working for me!

Whenever someone gets knocked out, you’re supposed to get a knockout message (ex. GreenBean was pixelated by Lil Bro). Right? Well mine isn’t working! Every single game mode and even the creative maps, it just doesn’t show up! Everyone elses shows up but not mine!

Can you send a picture of the coding for the message system? There might be something wrong there.

It’s something you have to code if you haven’t already. You can use the search bar to see if there are any guides that can help.

There are two possible outcomes for this that I can think of. Either you get a pop-up saying who knocked you out (like in tag and capture the flag), or a feed notification (the little notifications to the side of the map). Please let me know which one it is so I can help you.

Do you mean the actual Gimkit maps and the ones made by others on creative? Or is it your own maps?

  • If it is not popping up on the Gimkit-made modes themselves, then idk, try the basic things to try to remove the bugs (reloading, closing tab, checking wifi, etc.)
  • If it doesn’t work on a map made by someone else, they probably don’t have knockout messages in their map. Or maybe try what I stated above and coming back to it if you are sure they have a pop-up message.
  • If It is your own creative map, then try checking your code and devices (based on info that previous replies have stated). If it just plainly doesn’t work, then just try the actions I said earlier.

Otherwise, I don’t know how to help you, sorry.

Did you try going into fullscreen? It seems that activity feed messages only show up when you’re in fullscreen

It isn’t when in full screen, just when zoomed out enough (which full screen can sometimes do). They see it in other maps and they are asking why it isn’t in their map.

that wouldn’t affect only their game and not other games

That would affect it, actually. They said that on every map they play the message won’t show, but other people playing the same game get the messages.

The problem, though, as other people said, is likely them not being zoomed out enough

There’s a minimum screen size requirement for seeing activity feed messages.

Try the following:
A. Go fullscreen. This fixes the problem on most devices.
B. Zoom out. Your browser should have an option for you to zoom out.

If you have zoomed out as much as possible and it doesn’t work on the official game modes, uh, get a new device…

If you’re on a Chromebook, do Ctrl shift -, that should help.
