Story Needed For My New Game

I Am Making A Platformer Game With A Unique Mechanic Which Is A Overlay Button That Turns Platforms On And Off. I Need An Overall Storyline Idea That Is Intriguing.

I Want To Game To Take Place In Multiple Biomes/ Places So I Need A Storyline That Will Support That. Also I Like The Agent Theme And Dark/Scary Theme

An agent called Shady Bro works in a lab that makes the world different… He makes two buttons that one of which works when the world is one half of the is empty and makes it one half full, and the other button does the opposite. When he makes this, the world has consequences that happen to the real world, science, and technology. (This can be made with overlays, barriers, and wires.)

Any Other Ideas?? ??

maybe it could be Mario theme kinda cause the mechanic reminds me of the p switches from mario

You play as Mario and you set on a journey to save princess peach from bowser.. again he finds that on his journey across multiple worlds that most of the stages have been replaced with blocks that disappear and reappear with the power of p switches as Mario ventures across the multiple words he starts to realize that its a virus spreading across the worlds sent by Bowser. And then at the end when he beats Bowser and save peach he presses this mysterious big red button out of curiosity and it ends up reversing the virus

An Special Agent working for the government(Whatever name you choose) is tasked on a mission to find the Missing Person. The Special Agent will probably be the player.

This Missing Person’s name is (Whatever name you want). The Missing Person has disappeared In this haunted forest. The haunted forest has large trees, plant life everywhere and a fog that limits view. It has been over 5 years since they ever saw the Missing Person before they disappeared. The Missing Person have been known to be an adventurer and researcher that studies abandoned civilizations. In the Missing Person’s last report they studied on a civilization being located in the haunted forest.
The Special Agent is a close friend to the Missing Person. So the loss of the Missing Person is more and will to bring them back is more. The Special Agent goes on a long goose chase to find the Missing Person. Trying to find any tracks.
The Special Agent start to look for any tracks in the Missing Person’s lab. This will lead the Special Agent to a civilization that the Missing Person found called the Sentinels. He travels to the place and talks to the people. The people tell him the location of where the Missing Person is and the Special Agent finally finds the Missing Person.
You can end the story on whatever you want…
here are some options

  • The Missing Agent comes back to the regular civilization
  • The Missing Agent lives with the civilization in the haunted forest.

Is this good?
I don’t really do lore, so I just tried cause no one else did

I will do this tomorrow, though your game idea is hardly original as you claim due to the Flip switch game that was in Community Picks for a while.

Oh It Was Didn’t See It

Great Ideas! How Could I Make It So Your Travel Through Different Themes During The Game (ex. snowy, wasteland, school)

How could you make it as in how do you set up the devices and/or props to make it or the lore needed to transform the game?

I want their to be a theme for each level so I want the lore to be about maybe an explorer cause that would make more sense

What if the explorer has this weird item that randomly switches to a different biome. It sounds weird but what if there is a low-lying universal magnetic wave that alters the seasons and/or biomes. The force from the item interacts with the field in a certain zone - and voila.

Like making the forests slowly change to a different biome, adding sprinkles of the new trees to show that its changing.
Also adding some just no trees (grassland) to transition from forest to a school.

Summary

Sorry I fell asleep :frowning:

doesn’t the idea need the main mechanic of the game which are platforms that disappear and reaper?

Mental Madness

Picked up off the street by a Vortex patrol, you find yourself being escorted through a series of pristine hallways into a lab chamber containing a single chair with a strange half circle the shape of a head hanging from the ceiling with an odd assortment of wires and tubes filled with strange liquids funneling into it.Already being aware that the only alternative to whatever sick experiment this is was elimination, you wearily trudge towards the seat, prodded along by electroshock pikes wielded by Vortex Agents. Having just completed your tour of duty for Echo and being unceremoniously thrown out of the agency office and back into the slums you were drafted from, you can only assume Vortex means to interrogate you for intelligence on Echo.
Collapsing into the chair as a jolt of pain goes through your torso from a shock prod, you feel restraints clamp down over your limbs as the strange device lowers onto your skull. You hear a voice on the speaker tucked into the rooms corner:
“Initiating Trial 417 of Project Elysian. Innoculating Subject…”
You feel a sharp jab from a needle penetrate your head from within the cap, and your vision fades to black.
When you wake, you find yourself lying in a grassy meadow, flowers adorning the edge of what seems to be a floating island. Warily, you clamber to your feet to find several platforms floating in the air around you, all of various sizes and scales, containing vibrant trees and bushes, a cornfield laying in the distance on approach to a barn. Curious, you begin jumping towards the structure, careful to avoid falling into the mist below you. As you approach the structure, you feel a flash of pain flow through your skull, causing you to wince.
When your eyes open, they find the surroundings have been plunged into autumn, the grass decaying and the islands fracturing into small pieces as the trees atop them change hue. The barn you were approaching now seems decrepit, and strangely more distant than before. With the trail behind you vanished however, you have no choice but to press onward. As you reach a larger platform, you detect movement within the cornfield. You watch as a strange Gim like figure made entirely of Corn emerges, pointing a strange cacti at you. You feel a sharp sting in your arm as a throne is plunged into your skin as the Gim opens fire. Ducking behind a nearby well, you spot a strange wooden staff lying at the bottom. You frantically raise the bucket and grab the staff, pointing it at the strange Gim and unleashing a destructive blast of green energy. As it collapses, you sculk into the field, fending off a few more before finding a strange vial spilled onto the dirt. A flash of realization hits you as you recognize it as Chemical X! It was an Echo bioweapon that your squad had been tasked with delivering a month prior, the recipe for which Vortex had been desperate to learn. As you stand in shock at finding the unnatural substance, you begin to feel faint, feeling a dull feeling in the back of your head as you fall to the ground.
Waking once more, you find not a trace of life in the barren wasteland before you, a desolate place swept with snow, any life long since gone from it. You spot ruins in front of you, a strange altar, upon which a message calls for you to jump into the mist. A hooded figure appearing in the shadows. With no hope or choice left to turn to, you step off into the void and begin to feel yourself falling…
falling…
falling down into… wait is that a street?! You twist upward to see a helicopter hovering int the quickly receding sky, the strange device hanging over where your body had been suspended moments before. As you accept your imminent demise, your last thought is a shudder of fright at what Vortex might do with Chemical X.
For the gameplay mechanic of shifting platforms, the device will deal the player 5 damage for every time they switch dream states between various seasons to progress to the altar.
