Should I make my map Platformer or Top down (Prequel to Apocalypse) Poll on post 12

So I am making a Prequel to the official gimkit game mode apocalypse, It is when they escape on the escape pod and build their base, should I make it top down or platformer?

i think you should do top down but make the map different from apocalypse and maybe have new roles

Yes, it is a hard choice because while platformer may have many potentials, top down also has many advantages

I need a good reason because I am taking this project seriously bc it will be my biggest project yet with many good creators collaberating.)

You have escape elements which require moving and doing different things which is what top down is for I also think platformer should just be used for platformer games, but thatā€™s just my opinion

Top down or platformer for my apocalypse prequel: The Crash

  • Platformer ( Has advantages on obstacles realistic gravity and many other gravity required effects. Disadvantages is limited terrain, hard to make etc
  • Top down ( Advantages on adventure or like quest of some kind. Good for non gravity required projects, basically unlimited terrain. Disadvantages, Hard to do very realistic ā€œMining situationsā€ or realistic gravity, etc)

Well, now that I think about it, considering the ā€˜baseā€™. Making a multi-level base would result in platformer. Or if it is just one level with a lot of rooms and halls, top-down would be best.
