Is there a way to add shadows? like in most horror games there is a small bit of light around you I could use that

This is currently not possible (I believe) because to make that, You would need a coordinate system and that has not been made yet. Sorry.
I also might have given you the wrong answer because I thought you were looking for something else.

yes you can add a barrier under custom made props, and turn on shadows on so of the props, or you can add a barrier over a the map to give it the shadowy feel just turn down the transparentce.
