🔎 Research for Moving Enemies and How We Might be Able to Create One [ Pseudo-movement ]

Also, It’s important to remember that if you used text for this mechanic, you can’t render the enemy’s x and y in unison.

uhhh
you mind reading the first line of that guide for me?

Think of it like this:
If the player is above the enemy, the enemy moves up. And then vise versa.
It also moves left or right depending on the players position. It would move 1 or 2 directions every “move” tick.

Working on the gif
So many people don’t understand so I really need one…

That’s completely wrong, don’t implement that!

I know a way to make pseudo movement using multiple sentries but idk how to make the health carry over

Yes, but in this mechanic we make a subsitute for a sentry like a prop.
We do that for the player as well.
Using cusom coordinates, the enemy follows the player.
This is an early system for a moving sentry.

Ahem

He means the fact that the blaster took a week or so to get added after it got released in an official mode.

This is… going to need to be a wiki (for four days at least lol), since you have limited editing time. @twofoursixeight (I ping you so much, it’s kind of incredible) would you mind making this a wiki?

I have glitched sentries to move by enabling knockback.

This probably extremely bad idea but what if you move the player to make it appear like a sentry is moving

The fact that there’s 20 of this same post is insane.

Since you can’t detect damage, the best (and maybe only) way to do that is by having a ton of destroyable props that are all at 1 hp (able to be broken in 1 shot) and do something like that. It won’t be very customizable, but it works.

Actually I changed my mind I’m not sure if this could be a wiki because this guide uses a patched guide as a material: (Patched) How to Make a Sentry Move while carrying damage over! (🟩)

I suppose this might be a new method so I will temporarily make it a wiki

However I advice not posting incomplete guides next time

What if we use a prop that can be damaged connected to a timer and damager once the prop is destroyed the timer stops

What in the world is the timer for?

To deal damage every few seconds

To what, the sentry? Why do we need to damage the sentry every few seconds, and stop when the prop is destroyed?

there would be no sentry the damager damages the player like a sentry would

Right now, this post is trying to figure out how to move sentries and move the damage the player’s done to it, not damage from the sentry to the player.
