there’s no way to change from day to night without permanently making it night time
at least I don’t think

I think you could try to use a dark barrier and connect it to a repeater or something similar to activate/deactivate the barrier after a certain amount of time. You could also add a moon and stars and connect those to the repeater too. Then, the task repeats and alternates between night and day. (Haven’t tested this, but I think it would work.)
