You can find the time in the GMT timezone, so doing this may be a bit iffy. The player would have to enter their timezone for it to work well.

So part of the ID is the time? Is it just the first 8 numbers like the top post suggests?

Yeah, the first 8 characters are the Unix timestamp in hexadecimal.

From the left? How does that work?

I already have a TL4 agreement with 2468. Thank you, but I need to be a lot more active to be a good mod here.

No. That was a seperate system unrelated to player IDs.

And i have no way of contacting 2468 besides messaging the mods. If youre interested in asking for TL4, go send in your request there. Id also like to note that TL4s are supposed to stay on topic, which you arent doing.

Player IDs are mongodb ObjectId()s. They contain the unix time that the id was generated, and then some additional info about the processor or whatever that ensures ids dont overlap.

Ok, just searched it up. So the first 8 digits of the code are the 10 Unix time digits?

Yeah, just in hexadecimal form.

Ok. That’s actually pretty cool. I can see seasonal events being able to use this, but I’d have to do research into conversion.

Theres another post you may be interested in. It has an algorithm for conversion and also some theorizing about applicatons of this:

I wasn’t active for like 2 days and I missed everything :sob:

whaty progress have we made?

So, I read like 5 posts, and this really does unlock idle games combined with normal save codes.

You would need simple conversion to do seasonal events, just a check if the first 8 digits of the player ID {after multiplying each digit by 16^(digit place -1)} are greater than 1746388106 but less than 1766725199

I actually want to make a date tracker with this. Give me a minute to find someone in Team Spacie with a free map slot.

I feel proud :))).

Welp, i feel like we have learned all that we need to know about player ID’s, dont you guys think?
Thanks to everyone for all these awesome contributions!

If there is still more stuff to learn, please comment! If not, I prob will be marking a solution, so we can cement this in history.

Oh, wait, so no more research? Well now I gotta go to another topic to talk about buying grandmas
It’s probably a good idea anyway, though. I just feel like we could find out more about player IDs.
