there is a VERY good reason why people are leaving, and it’s because of real life. some people are addicted and they need to be suspended to cure the addiction. they can’t just sit there and become inactive because they don’t have the self-control to do that. and i don’t think anyone left the forums (LEFT, not forced to leave) by getting their account deleted

Look at Blackhole. He’s just there, trying to cure addiction, but his account is unsuspended. That’s better than being permanently suspended. Though I understand your reasoning.

some people are more addicted than that. look at me, i’ve never missed a day of being on the forums. heck, i got devotee and i am the only one to do so
i said LEFT, not FORCED to leave (as in punished). i even said that in the quote

Ye, ur right. But my point was, don’t go permanently suspended, even if you’re leaving forever. Because, when you want to come back, it could be pretty annoying.
Its really up to the users leaving to do what they want with their accounts. This topic might actually make it worse for people trying to leave the forums because of their real lives because this topic might be guilt-tripping them into thinking that if they leave it’ll have negative effects on the forums causing them to not ask for a suspension which could lead to downfall in their real lives as they stay on the forums even though they know they shouldn’t be.

Yes, I’m upset that people are leaving, like I said in my bio, but people have serious mental issues of just looking at their screens every day to the point where it’s unhealthy.
But, I’m upset people leave just to go to the wix, especially if they’re regular.
But it’s fine if they absolutely have to leave.

I can’t even tell you how many people have left these past couple of days. Honestly. So many great forumers are gone, and everyone has to stop leaving. So yes, your statements are true, and some people deserve to leave. But there should be a line where people leave. What I’m saying is: No permanent suspensions. Sure, short suspensions are fine.

Thank you so much for making this Toxic. I also was thinking of leaving, and asking to get suspended, but this made me realized, what if i want to come back? What if i regret getting suspended? I’d rather just take a break, then lose my account or something.

My thoughts on this:
instead of telling people what to do (telling them not to ban themselves ), instead, ask them to think about what would happen if they left, and if they still want to leave, then let them!
it’s not your right to just say “don’t leave the forums”, it’s their choice.
Also @Quack_Quack , I kind of agree with you, but also it’s still their right, if they want to leave the forums, well, there’s really nothing you can do to stop them.

This is stupid. If you want out, get out. This forum is less important than your personal life. Blackhole is not an example to follow here. Leave if you want to. Suspensions help people get out, and they’re a good tool, eiq is right.

There’s also no way of stopping this, because if regulars couldn’t request suspensions they would just cause mayhem on the forums to get permanetely banned.
So…
You’re allowed to be upset that people are leaving but there’s nothing you can do about that.
If one of the main reasons you are still on the forums is because you are really inspired by one person that just so happens to leave one day, and you leave as well, that’s fine.
The forums are going to lose popularity someday, it’s bound to happen.
I’m not going to waste all my life here.
