I have something for this, I’ll edit this soon. [1]

Edit: Putting it as a new post, sorry.

Some Cool Ideas,

Name, The Witch
Gim, Raveena
Action, Quest | You have to help The Witch make a potion through a very long and complex (maybe even random) process of steps, if you do it right you get like 30 gold, 10 xp, and a weak potion (if your game has potions). However, if you mess up the steps, the concoction explodes in your face. (You either d1e or take a lot of damage and the quest is locked forever because they don’t trust you anymore).

Name, Bob
Gim, Seed Sid
Action, Merchant | He tries to sell you a magic apple for 100 gold, you think its a scam but if you actually buy it you get a cool buff (like regen or speed).

Name: Sir Haroldington
Gim: Harold

Quest (Technically a quest line)

Those who know would understand the quest line lol

Quest 1

-Find out if the rumors of the king and queen being mind controlled are true

Quest 2

-Find the Void Eater
-Get Sir Haroldington a fish

Quest 3

-Defeat the king and queen
-Use the Void Eater get rid of the plague

Alt Quest

Bring him some fish

Lore

A mystifying penguin of unknown origin. Never in the same place for too long. Has a habit of conveniently popping up once from nowhere once someone has done his task.

Dialogue
Getting Quest 1

“Hmmmm. You’ve got some potential kid. Tell ya what, get some info for me and if my suspicion is true I’ll get ya some more tasks and by the time your done with them, you’ll be a hero.”

Completing Quest 1

“So, the rumors were true.. I know a thing or two on how you can stop them from being mind controlled, but you’ll need something to do it. The Void Eater. Get the Void Eater if it really is real and I’ll give ya some instructions. Oh! And while you’re at it gets me a fish too!” (Then you get Quest 2)

Completing Quest 2

Huh. So it really is real. Oh! And you got me my fish! Well anyways according to legend this can only be activated with a key. Problem is it’s a royal treasure. Oh well you’ll find a way I’m sure of it. Now then listen carefully here’s your next set of instructions. defeat the king and queen which will then force the plague out of their minds and then use the Void Eater to get rid of it. I don’t care how you do it just get the job done, but the whole fate of the world is in your very hands. Oh, and don’t break reality itself! Have fun!"(Then you get Quest 3)

Completing Quest 3

“Well I’ll be! Ya really did it kid. I knew ya had it in ya all this time! Welp, I’m not kind of a bird of many words, so I’ll be going. See ya later kid!”

Quote of original post

Name: Doodley
Gim: Sketch [1]
Profession: Multi-job town person.

Found: Towns 2, 3 and 4 (non-intractable in town 2 or 4). He mainly does artistry, but also travels to and trades with other towns, and sometimes works at a bakery called The Sweet Treats (a well-known place found in town 4).

Quests:
Quest (redo-able every 1 or 2 in-game weeks): Find Doodley’s art supplies.
Speech:
Doodley: “Hey there, can you help me?”
Player: “Sure, what’s up?”
D: “I forgot some of my art supplies by the lake. Can you please bring them back to me?”
P: “Okay.”
D: “Thank you.”

Going to the lake, you have to defeat a very basic enemy that’s by the 2 or 3 art supplies.

After bringing the brushes and paint back to him:
P: “I got your art stuff.”
D: “Thank you for getting them. I work a lot of small jobs, so I tend to forget my things sometimes. …I should really get a bigger backpack, or at least one for my art stuff.”

Reward: 100 or 200 XP (whichever is more reasonable with your XP system).

Secret 1: If you buy a large backpack from a store (make it so large backpacks are in shops from towns 1 and 5), you can give it to him. You can only do this after you’ve helped him at least once, and doing this disables the ability to get this quest.

P: “Hey, you were needing this, right?”
D: “Yes! Thank you so much! I never have that much time to go around and do things, so I really appreciate this. Here, I’d like you to have this as my thanks.”
Reward: 300 XP and a rare Pickaxe.

Secret 2: You can find a regular Sketch Gim in Town 5 that mentions something about his brother being one of the best non-royal artists in the Kingdom, and that he’s impressed his brother is able to keep up with 3 part-time jobs.

  1. Can you use 1 or 2 Custom Shape devices to draw thin colored squiggles so he looks like me/my custom Gim? If you don’t, that’s completely fine too.) ↩︎

Name: Farmer Fred
Gim: Seed Sid
Quest/Lore/Selling: Can be found in as many towns as you like, starting from the first to wherever and his quests get progressively harder. He is a hardworking farmer but needs you to get seeds for him in the forest or smth. As the game goes on the seeds get harder to get and to find. Once you collect a certain amount of seeds he can either give you items or access to his shop. He could sell you food or gadgets or something. But, if you choose to use him, he can only have one quest per area so make it decently hard.
