TL;DR for those who can’t stand my yapping: Me want ideas for innovative platformer game
Creative platforming is most likely (rough estimate) going to become open to all in like, less than a month, given it’s said to come out in 2024. And you can bet darn well i’m gonna use it.
With that said, I need a new idea for a platformer game. I don’t necessarily want to do a DLD game of some kind, as DLD clones are a dime a dozen (just look at the slop on the Trending tab). I’m seasoned enough in Creative as to where I could probably get something on Community Picks if I spent good time on the game and didn’t rush it too hard. So I think I could make most things i’m asked. I bring this pointless fact up for a reason (trust me it’s important it’s not my ego!!) because I need to ask YOU:
What do YOU like in Gimkit games?
I want to innovate. I want to try hard and stand out, because we all know as soon as platforming is released there’s gonna be a big horde of low-quality 2 minute long platformers made by what can only be described as children. So I ask if you, what ideas do you have? Any gameplay mechanics? Story ideas? Lookin’ for a friend.
Hmm, maybe like try to get all the way to a teleporter and each time the person gets in the teleporter the level gets harder (maybe at level 4 get a small sentry, level 5 the sentry gets a little bit bigger each???(I’m-a-I’m still thinkin)
Something kind of like DLD at the start but it turns into something like Rage Quit from GD in DLD. I like special effects and good gameplay. 80% good gameplay, 20% special effects. And the gameplay that’s cool is with different mechanics like speed boosters or just things that a non-mechanical platformer couldn’t do.
gravity flipping mechanic, basically you can go on the roof with the click of a button (idk if this is possible in platformer, I’m too broke to have platformer before full release )
Having an interesting storyline or just some really good gameplay is always helpful! I also really like games with an interesting mechanic, whether that’s purely decorative (there are some good game examples out there) or actually changes the gameplay.
