also I have a question. How are we going to add a sterring system. I already made how to steer, but what is it gonna do. Is there going to be a kraken, and we have to go south to avoid? Or something else?

The steering system could be for a minigame, for example, on a screen it says a random direction -left -riht - forward. and the player has to click the buttons that appear on the screen! It can be used for if we are going to hit something or going through a bunch of rocks.
ehh, I have a control room with triggers, and I like that method. also the steering system is the main part of this build, so it should have more than 1 use.

Do It where you exit the submarine, you start to drown.
You could have a function so if you click a button, it gives you a life jacket and if you go out the door using a lifejacket you get teleported to n island (as a fun Easter egg)
