My New Game Adventure Town Needs Ideas! šŸ–¼

Hi everyone! It’s been a while

I am making a game titled Adventure Town, and basically the players explore different buildings and plotlines to get cash and upgrades while avoiding backstabs from other players. If you want a full on summary of the game, here it is:

The Game so Far

The game map consists of multiple areas:

  • The Neighborhood, featuring private houses players can claim.
  • The Pool, where players can earn money by lifeguarding and collect water.
  • The Farm, for planting fruits and crafting keys.
  • The Forge, used to upgrade gadgets and craft keys using energy collected elsewhere.
  • Scribblz’s Supermarket, a shop for upgrades and quest items.
  • The Rink, hosting a timed ice skating minigame that awards money.
  • The area with the Common Thug, a respawning enemy that grants money when defeated.
  • The Dungeons, a maze that players can unlock and explore to find artifacts and cash.
  • The Mural, a small area used as cover in fights.
  • The Reactor, where players can gather energy safely every five minutes.
  • The Pond, primarily decorative but includes Detective Baka, who helps players review clues and facts.
  • The Hospital, an abandoned area with Doctor Synapse, who initiates a second major plotline.

There are two main plotlines:

  1. The Dungeons Plotline: Involves unlocking the dungeons by using fruit keys crafted from seeds grown with water collected at the Pool or Pond. Players receive clues from Birthday Boy after giving him a gift.
  2. The Synapse Plotline: Begins at the Hospital where players investigate the madness of Doctor Synapse and uncover a timeline discrepancy involving Scribblz and Birthday Boy’s party. Completion of this plotline rewards money and energy, which are essential for gadget upgrades.

My friends and I have played it a little, but now I realize that it is difficult to get cash fast. I need ideas for areas and plotlines and ways to get cash. Any thing would be appreciated. Thanks!

Areas:

  • The local museum, where you find secret keys in the artifacts
  • The library, a safe place where you can heal
  • The lab, where secrets are uncovered and enemies lurk
  • Rags’ Restaurant, where you become a waiter and earn cash, plus learn some lore (so far no lore ideas…)
  • The gym, where you run one lap around obstacles, you lose energy but gain health
  • The coffee shop, where you lose health because of snacks but gain energy  haha the opposite

Plotlines:

  1. Lab plotline: You get water from the pool for planting at the farm, but the water isn’t clean, even if you checked, there’s nothing wrong with the water. So you check at the lab, but you find enemies instead
  2. Museum plotline: You explore the museum and find clues to the mystery of the game
  3. Library plotline: You got in a fight with the common thug, but in the middle, you got severely injured while the thug ran after you, so you took cover in the library. You find a book with a paper of clues slipped in it, so you take it to borrow. Every second you spend in the library, you get one health, but if you stay too long at once, the thug can burst in.

How’s that? More ways to gain energy and health, and more plotlines with areas! Hope you add these:)

Idea: Operation Tycoon
Work at a newly built tycoon factory to MAKE. MONEY. FAST.

Plotline Idea (hoping plotline also means LORE):
Curse of The Dragon
Long ago, when this town was a measly farming village, a king rose to power, King Gimrick II. At first, his citizens absolutely hated him. He spent all the kingdom’s taxes on himself, he made everybody worship him as a god, and forced the kingdom’s young men to go fight a w@r against another kingdom for no reason other than the kingdom refused to give the king some money. Desperate to make the citizens respect him, he grabbed his sword and challenged the Dragon King of Eragon to a battle…to the de@th. Upon arriving, the dragon laughed at the king’s lame attempt to command respect. Instead, he offered the king a deal. The dragon pretends to attack the king’s kingdom, and the king pretend-slays him, and the citizens respect him and shower him in goods. In return, the dragon must pay up one billion gold coins to the dragon by the end of the century. The king makes a deal, he ā€œslaysā€ the dragon, and all is well. Of course, the king forgets about his deal, and the century grinds on. Now, exactly a century after the king’s deal, the dragon returns to collect his gold. But there is none to be found. He threatens to burn the whole city to the ground unless the gold are returned in 24 hours. You, a citizen of this city, is drafted into a group for retrieving the gold in a faraway land. I can elaborate more if you want.
