Hi everyone. I would put an exclamation point on ‘Hi everyone’ but alas, I am a somber man now.
TL;DR: My invisible vending machines are breaking.
In editing mode, they show up just fine. I can edit them and copy them and whatnot. But when I playtest the game, they just act like they are not there.
This does not happen to the vending machines anywhere except… vertical spaceship barriers. And my game is sort of based on their concept.
The First Instance
In my game, an area called the Dungeons was unlocked. You had to use a key to open a door that would give you an item. But the vending machine to open the door seemingly disappeared. I checked everything that could possibly have happened and tried to revive it with a Lifecycle device and wires; but my efforts were in vain.
Eventually I ended up getting rid of the vending machine and made the door damageable instead. But the game will never be the same.
The Second Instance
I had another spaceship door elsewhere in the map, and the invisible vending machine to unlock it was working perfectly. That is, until five minutes ago.
I was playtesting and suddenly, it decided to act like its brother. I am scared that slowly, all the vending machines will start crashing.
This may be a side effect of my memory usage being at 54%. It may not be.
Yet it is still a major pain in the bottom.
If anyone can help fix this, or even help me understand what the heck is going on, I would greatly appreciate it.
I made a copy of the vending machine and it worked last time, but now it doesn’t work. I don’t want to have to make a new vending machine every time I want to play.
Wait, so when you walk up to them to interact with them, the popup doesn’t appear? Strange. Maybe try deleting them and re-adding them, or reloading the page, or clicking the save button in the settings.
