Memory Efficient Trigger Keyboard 🤯 (Only takes 1% memory)

Oh, I have been. I’ve been walking all over them.

did you make sure you did this step, you need to do it in order for the keyboard to work.
the keyboard only uses 9 triggers for the keys, 1 is used for this step.

Hold up. So the trigger used for block code is NOT it’s own separate trigger?

the trigger used for block code is a separate trigger from the keyboard yes.
one counter is used to set the ā€œWaiting till letter selectedā€ variable and not which letter is selected.
I can see why this can be a bit confusing but I remember it working for me.

Yes sir. The one thing that I am a little confused about and is probably the source of the problem is this part.

You never properly explain the ā€œNumber Text to useā€ property, so I wonder if the Number Text to use and Number Letter to use property are one and the same.

they most likely are and I just mixed up what I called it.
try and replace the number text to use with number letter to use and see if that fixes the issue.

K. I noticed that you had said this system uses 3 properties, but it ended up using 4 so that’s why I thought that maybe those two properties are the same. Let me just finish the system and I’ll let you know if it works!
P.S. you should probably add in a section where it explains how to send the message.

IT WORKS! @Fleet, YOU ARE A GENIUS!

But two questions: how do you make a space and backspace button? (I think you may have already answered that in our research topic, but I don’t remember lol)

backspace I remember, just make a trigger with this block code,

(this is from the research topic)
for space you just simply make a new trigger, with block code that sets the text property to
create text with (get text property) and (text string block that only contains a space)

kk, thanks man!

Could you do the math for exactly how much memory it takes up?

It should take 1275 memory (if I’m decent at math lol)

Alright, that’s the number to beat. I’ll edit this post with a ping if I can come up with something in that ballpark or lower.

@Jobozo1875, I’m at 3590 with just a mildly optimized keyboard. Almost 3 times less efficient…

correct! thats how much it takes up, I don’t like doing math for memory so I just go off the percentage.
