First to answer your question, its not really a change the color on stuff, your most likely seeing barrier art. In which you make the barrier a different color and make it so that players can walk through it.
I’m guessing you want to make a basketball game (by the title). Unfortunately this would in fact take time since you would have to make every movement that the basketball be in the air at every point in the map (in order to avoid the ball being stuck on the ground). Idk how I would code this either, I would probably use zones when you run into the ball to make the ball move up some space and then back down at a given point.
And THEN, you would have to make the shots into the hoop itself, which you’ll have to code the chances of missing and getting the ball in (trigger, coding blocks). Sorry but I don’t see a way to make this any shorter 
(unless you make the court short, might cut time).

You can change the colors of barriers, so you most likely saw a barrier obby which in my opinion are the easiest ones to make.
This is on the menu of the barrier prop.
Make sure to mark a solution when you get one!

Secondly, changing barrier color is simple:
- Click on the barrier.
- Scroll to find “barrier color”
- Click on the barrier color.
- Change it however you’d like!

Uh, for the basket ball, use platformer, and make a blastball. i’m pretty sure you can knock them up with a pickaxe. Use a sideways blastball net.
The Ball device is not available in platformer mode.
