I dont Know all about that but I have seen games like mariokart in gimkit so it should be possible
to make the boost you could use a game overlay with one speed modifier to slow the player down a bit a trigger to delay time connected to another speed modifier to make you faster and then another trigger delay connected to the final speed modifier to reset back to normal.
you could have different carts assigned to different teams then have different sets of barriers for each team slowly activate when necessary.
when you get it game overlay could modify players speed or bl!nd them(camera point to a black barrier).
You could have a zone with a no collision barrier when they go through the zone it deactivates it sets a timer to reactivate. to make items you could have it correspond to a gimkit item to track then when used remove it and give the effect.
