I used the off - topic tag thinking it meant that people would think that it was not a question. So I got banned. I contacted support but they have not responded. Is there a way to get unbanned.

Just wait for them to respond. The off topic tag is used to indicate a post is off topic so the mods can take care of it. In the meantime, evading a ban with an alt probably won’t help.
