So I was searching throughout my old posts, and I found an idea for American Ninja Warrior. I’m not going to link it here, but I posted it a year ago, and with all the new updates, I need ideas.
Plus, I’m burned out on my puzzle game and so I want something to do during school when I’m done my schoolwork other than doom scrolling on the forums.
Kormorant has been infected? This is unprecedented.
I remember watching this as a kid. Immediately off the top of my head, mechanics we could use for obstacles include normal parkour, and button mashing.
So what I was thinking is using fragility… this would allow you to use mechanics to push the player around, this would make the obstacle harder.
Also now that I watched a short video I remember what it is.

A slope jump maybe if its platformer, I can’t really think of much to recreate it. Maybe we could use a momentum mechanic such as the longer you walk the faster you go.
I’ll have to think of this tomorrow or Tuesday because my brain is kind of dead of doing work the whole weekend.
uh
fragility would be good, like the player would take fragility slowly and would have a chance of falling off to “Weakness”
also making it to another part of the course would require a randomizer to make sure you don’t fall
Tbh I’m just tryna get obstacle help rn and also figure out how to do stuff like the rope at the end of the season
Also I’m going offline for about an hour because I have some English work to do
Uh… I never watched american ninja warriors but I have seen images of it before… if you wanted to make a rope players can climb you could make a series of buttons and teleporters, when a button is pressed it teleports you up to the next button, all the buttons deactivate when pressed btw (so like the player has to time their presses or fall)
You can also make the course unpredictable by making like 10 or more courses and teleporting the players to a random one, this could be used so that players who have played the game more than others will not have much as an advantage.
