Have you ever been in the situation of making a top-down map, only to realize that you need stairs in your map? well most likely you are trying to get something like this
correct?
well today I will show you how you can make stairs like this.
How to make the stairs.
first place a barrier that the color is completely black, then change the alpha to be 0.30 and have no collision. change the size to be how wide you want your stairs to be. then duplicate it and have equal space in between, do this until you reach how long you want your stairs to go.
you will eventually get something to the effect shown in the image above.
Explanation on how this looks like stairs
how this works is that it mimics a shadow on the front side of the stairs, and makes it have an sort of isometric view, which will make it seem like actual stairs to the players, which is what we want. this can be used greatly in lobby’s or actual maps. (do make sure that the barriers are in a layer below the player, so it doesn’t have an odd effect.)

what do you suppose could help with that? I mean I can sort of try to explain how it tricks your brain into thinking its stairs using some images but I don’t know how I would go about that to be completely honest.
