Pirates is a io game where the goal is to break the other teams spawns so they can’t respawn and just knock them out and now I made it on Gimkit.
How game should be set up
Hit the options button:
Inside, hit map options
Set teams to ‘specific teams amount’
Set it for the teams you want! (for this guide, i’ll be using 2 teams)
Go in items and set resource drops to no (i’ll explain this later):
How to make pirate ships
Be creative, you can make it as complicated and artistic as can be, heres a example of mine (for demonstration purposes.)
Remember your going to have to do this a second time on the other side, try to make it as accurate as possible, and the ship shouldn’t be on the ground, it should be at least 8 blocks up and at least a fair distance apart
The ticket! (or the item you choose)
This item you choose is important and you only have one of it, so DON’T add it in the game.
Go in devices and hit starting inventory:
Set this to the item you want (I’ll be using ticket as a example):
This is why the resources has to be a no, for this reason, DON’T make your item a consumable or a gadget
Making the water
Making the water is easy.
Get a barrier and set it to blue, make sure it covers all the area under the ships:
Now use layers and make it at top of players and blocks:
Get a zone and put a channel in it (fall in water is the example)
Now get a checker and put the same channel in it:
Put the checking item the same as the item you chose (which again was ticket for me)
If its successful just wire the checker to a respawn and respawn the player
If its not successful (i’ll explain how this is possible in a minute), wire the checker to a team switcher that is spectators.
Making spawners
Get your local printer (lol) from the props section (this will be your spawner):
(its best to color the printer the team color you’re on (green team, yellow team, blue team, etc).
Go inside and set the damage to ‘120’ with a channel name thats fitting:
Place these around the ship (ship small → less spawners, ship big → more spawners).
Get a counter (non-visible) with a target of how many spawners on _____ team there are, and put the damage channel in (5 is the example):
Then make a relay with the specific team (in this example green team is team one).
Then wire the relay to a item granter that removes the ticket in this case:
There now when all teams spawners are gone, they can no longer respawn (don’t forget to do this process for all teams)
Making the middle/player knocked out
This processes are so simple it requires almost nothing so I combined these two into one:
Making the middle
The middle should be big, while allowing some distance apart from the ships (if you want, add a special item in the middle.
This item you can use in shops for special effects (optional)
Knocked out
If a player still have spawners they shouldn’t turn into spectator, the funny part is we already did this
Make sure when gadgets all are deleted on knocked out and player respawns with starter gadget again (zapper common)
Just get a lifecycle when ‘player knocked out’ and wire it to the checker we added earlier… and your done…
Blocks
Blocks should be removed on knockout but how are we gonna do that as I made a lecture that you can’t drop resources? Easy.
Get a inventory item manager for items you want the players to lose (might need more then one if you want more then 1 item to be lost):
(Sand as example)
Go into behavior and set on yes for override and delete item when knocked out:
For adding the blocks you can A. just give it to them with item spawners:
or B. make a shop (optional and will be explained below).
Height/World border
You don’t want people building to infinity, then the game would be like, hours long. So time to make a height border
Like a height border it should be far up to make things fair. Get a zone, and place it high up to your liking
After you do that, make it stretch the whole map, make it visible and red with channel:
You might need 2
The channel can be the same one as the water, forcing the player to respawn if passed.
Then make a text box going the wholeeee way repeating ‘height border’:
Then make one for the sides you dont want the pirates to cross saying ‘World border’
End game
Get another item granter for one of the teams (in my case its a green seed) and make it given to all on one of the teams on game start. (explaining this later)
Get 2 counters not visible + two relays + a lifecycle + wire reapeater:
- Wire game start lifecycle to a wire repeater of 1.5
- Attached it to the two relays, both for both teams.
- Attach them to a separate counters that increment.
- attach both counters (target 0) to a end game.
Now how to make it lower:
- To that checker we talked about a while ago, when it fails, add it to another checker (green seed).
Since we said that green seed is going to be one of the teams, lets use team one as it
Attach the success for the green seed to the matching counter and the fail to the other one (success goes with the team 1 counter, fail goes for the team 2 counter).
Optional:
Shop
Make a shop area with a zone that doesn’t allow firing (2, one for each team)
Make the vending machines with the item in the middle (damage booster, speed booster, etc.)
Thats it, its just a shop
