Step 1: Put down a button or a vending machine that does not cost anything
Step 2: Create 2 vending machines, one that gives you the item. Make them cost the 2 different items
Step 3: Create a checker that checks for the second item (the one that gives you the item), to see if the player has enough to buy it
Step 4: Use wires or channels to Make it so that
when button pressed - check
When check passed - attempt to purchased from 1st vending machine
When 1st vending machine is bought from - buy from second vending machine

I recommend putting something (like that command table) over the button to make it not, you know, just a button.
