How to make a Timed Tag Zone | Difficulty 1/10

Hi! I’ve seen a few questions for this, and I’ve seen answers. I’ve decided to make this guide to make the answer to that ^ question easier to find! Credit to @Alan_Shen for this guide.

So, you need:
Tag Zone 2x
Trigger 4x
Lifecycle 1x
Relay 5x
Overlay 4x

Wiring

Ok, now this is going to get crazy…

Lifecycle to Relay 1: Event Occurs → Trigger Relay

Trigger 1 → Relay 2: Triggered → Trigger Relay
Trigger 1 → Relay 3: Triggered → Trigger Relay

Repeater 1 → Counter 1: Runs Task → Decrement Counter

Counter 1 → Repeater 1: Target Value Reached → Stop Repeater
Counter 1 → Overlay 1: Target Value Reached → Hide Overlay
Counter 1 → Overlay 2: Target Value Reached → Hide Overlay
Counter 1 → Wire Repeater(#1): Target Value Reached → Pulse
Wire Repeater(#1) → Counter 1: Receives Pulse → Reset Counter
Counter 1 → Trigger 3: Target Value Reached → Trigger

Property 1 → Relay 2: Property Value Changed → Trigger Relay
Property 1 → Relay 3: Property Value Changed → Trigger Relay

Trigger 3 → Relay 4: Triggered → Trigger Relay
Trigger 3 → Relay 5: Triggered → Trigger Relay

Repeater 2 → Counter 2: Runs Task → Decrement Counter

Counter 2 → Repeater 2: Target Value Reached → Stop Repeater
Counter 2 → Overlay 3: Target Value Reached → Hide Overlay
Counter 2 → Overlay 4: Target Value Reached → Hide Overlay
Counter 2 → Wire Repeater(#2): Target Value Reached → Pulse
Wire Repeater(#2) → Counter 2: Receives Pulse → Reset Counter
Counter 2 → Trigger 1: Target Value Reached → Trigger

Property 2 → Relay 4: Property Value Changed → Trigger Relay
Property 2 → Relay 5: Property Value Changed → Trigger Relay

FINALLY!!! That’s all the Wiring!

Now, place Tag Zone 1 on Tag Zone 2, so that they completely overlap!

When I tried this guide I ran into a few problems…

  1. Tagging doesn’t work at all within the tag zones
  2. The timers that tell you to run away or tag decrement by factors of 2, and then they go into the negatives. One team has a constantly blinking and decreasing run away overlay, and the other team has a constantly blinking tag overlay.

Also, I’m not sure if this is a typo or not, but in the block of the fourth overlay the property is listed as “TagTime2”… is this supposed to be “TagTimeTeam2”

Anyway, these problems are probably user error on my part, but any help would be appreciated.

Is your game set to two different teams?

Great detailed guide! One problem, though, I followed it word for word but when I played my Gimkit, it worked fine up until it got to 0:10. Then it started going like '0:9, 0:8, 0:7, ect, and then for team one it went into the negatives and started flickering in and out. It never switched to ‘Run Away’ for team one. For team two, it counted the same way, but said ‘Run Away’, into the negatives, flickering in and out. On occasion, a green overlay would appear amongst the flickering ‘Run Away’ that said Tag: 0: It’s probably on my side, but I have no idea what I did that was wrong, can you think of anything that would help or that I may have messed up to get it this way?

How do you do this with 4 teams??

You’d probably quadruple the system…

But it’s 2 teams. Wouldn’t you double it instead?
