How to make a Dinosaur using Barrier Art!

hey there! thanks for checking out this guide! i’m super excited to show you how to make your very own dinosaur using barrier art.
let us get started :]

things you will need + things to keep in mind

all barriers being used are set 1 alpha
all barriers being used have no border
all barriers being used have collision on.
the total memory cost for this is 950. about 1% of all memory
(big thanks to @Cellofive for figuring that out!)

you will need:
barriers (duh)
blackboard legs (tinted black
glass shards

steps

head

start with a rectangular barrier, make it the color of the dinosaur’s underbelly.

follow the steps from here:

now, make another barrier: the color of the dinosaur’s head/body.

now, lets give this dino some eyes. :]

quick, give the dinosaur some nostrils so they can breathe! you can do this by using a blackboard leg.
Screenshot 2024-03-02 10.04.19 PM

now, give them some teeth.
Screenshot 2024-03-02 10.04.06 PM

outline the teeth using glass shards to make them look sharper.
Screenshot 2024-03-02 10.03.47 PM

give them a tongue,

and now give them more bottom teeth, use barriers but with an outline. then you’re done!! (with the head…)

body + neck

start with a barrier the same color as the top half of the head.

now, lets give them their underbelly.

arms

this is probably the simplest part of this guide.

legs

make these a different color than the body.

give them some toes using blackboard legs.

tail

first, start making a rough design on what the tail will look like.

ok, now start smoothing it out using slanted barriers.

congrats! you’ve successfully made a dinosaur!

uses

dinosaur in a prehistoric-themed map
a statue
in a museum
jurrasic park
on a poster
as a boss

finished product

(to all of those who skipped through the guide. o_o)

ok now,

GO READ THE ACTUAL GUIDE!!

congrats on making it to the end! i hope this guide was helpful to you in some way. if it was, give it a heart!
as always, thank you for reading, and have a good rest of your day or night! <3

i’ll bump this in the morning,
difficulty poll:

how hard was this guide?
  • 1/10
  • 2/10
  • 3/10
  • 4/10
  • 5/10
0 voters

(i stopped at five since this guide is no more challenging than that.)

Technically all art guides are 0/10 or 1/10 just for future reference. Great guide I really like the teeth. Are the bottom teeth rotated glass shards or are the snow piles?

Not all, have you heard of a guy named @Frozen_cursor

Good guide. In uses could you put Jurassic Park/Jurassic World please. (I want to make one now.)

Waitaminute, did you not make a guide about building dragons? If so, DRAGON V.S. DINOSAUR!

Lets not start that argument here

No, like, in a game, dragon v.s. dinosaur. That would be cool.

the bottom teeth are barriers, but with a black outline.
and yeah, i forgot to add 1/10 as an option, but when i realized my mistake i couldn’t edit it anymore.

Yeah you might wanna put that in the guide because of confusion.

This looks SO cool! I’m definitely going to use in the future. :t_rex: :sauropod:

How much memory does it use.

One minute I’ll count the barriers

Maybe add 2 legs?

About 950 memory. (Don’t ask how long it took to count the barriers lol)
@Captain-Gim so about 1% of memory

good idea, i can do that now.

(also, nice bfdi profile header.)

eh, we’re looking at the dinosaur from the side so you wouldn’t see both of the legs.
thanks for the suggestion though!

do you mind if i put that into the guide? i didn’t bother to count the memory myself, so thanks lol.

You can just make sure to credit me for finding that out
