How to create floor is lava in platformer?

It means that when the player is jumping up, there is lava automicly pop up piece by piece in a short time interval. And when the player drop to the lava, it will being respawn. The thing I don’t know how to do is that, how to let the lava(barrier) show part piece by piece i the same rate of zone.
