How to Create Eyes from Roblox Doors! (Replicating First-Person-Like Movement) 6/10 🟨

Hello, Gimkitters! It’s me, Landyn, back with a new guide! I know, I’m supposed to be working on my tug for all the modifiers, but I just had an idea SO GROUNDBREAKING I just HAD to make a guide out of it right away. Eyes’ mechanics have eluded us ever since Gimkit Creative released, as it requires the player to look at eyes. You see, Doors is a 1st-person game, while Gimkit is 3rd-person. So, how can 1st person be achieved in 3rd person? Let’s find out. Grab your nearest optometrist, (eye doctor) because we’re giving Eyes a checkup to learn his secrets. Just don’t look at him for too long…he may be the last thinf you ever see.

What You'll Need

15 Triggers
9 Zones per Eyes Encounter
4 Properties
1 Player Coordinate Device
1 Damager
1 Repeater

Methodology

Step 1: Arrange the 9 zones in a 3x3 grid inside the room, like so. (It’s fine if part of the zone is on the wall, but make sure that ALL parts of the room is covered by a zone.)

Assign each zone a different number 1-9 in the “When Player Enters Zone, Transmit On…” part. I recommend that you do it left to right, top to bottom, to make it easier to remember.

Step 2: Place down 1 property, make it a number property, player scope, and name it “Player_Location.”

Step 3. Place down a trigger for EACH zone, that triggers when receiving on their respected channel number, and copy this block code.

Step 4: Place down a text property titled “Look_Direction,” and set it to player scope.

Step 5: Place down your player coordinates device and copy this block code.

Step 6: Create two new number properties, titled “Previous_X” and “Previous_Y,” set to player scope.

Step 7: place down another 4 triggers, each for one direction. Each trigger triggers when receiving on one of the 4 channels from the player coords device. Copy this block code.

Step 8: this is the tricky part. I have it to where the eyes concept art takes up zone space two, so looking up on zones 5 and 8 would be looking at him, looking left on space 1 and looking right on space 3. Have the repeater start the second you enter a room. Copy this code.

Step 9: Create a system where each like 0.2 second you take damage while youre “looking” at eyes.

Wait, what are the zones for?
It feels like you mentioned them and never talked about their purpose for the rest of guide.
(Might wanna wait for the summary…)

it’s not nice to break the rules. I’ll only say it once: read the FAQ.

Im sorry. Im still in process of makingnthis guide, i didnt mean to post it yet.

But fyi, the zones are for the whole direction thing. Say, if youre in zone 4 and eyes spawns in 1, then looking up would be looking at him.

Pretty lowkey genius, eh?

Well…
Let me introduce you to
WALLS.
It should only do damage when your directly looking at them.
With walls, things can go haywire.
Thought I’d mention that.

Walls? What do walls have to do with it?
Note: OHHHH you mean in theory I could still take damage even through a wall? Nope. With my system, that cant happen. Ima go back to finishing this up, if yall need anything, let me know and ill get back whenever i can

This is the Eyes design I came up with, For the “body” I used a bush, but I tinted it black.

The methodology is done! Ima take a break b4 doing the summary, tho
