Unfortunately you can’t get rid of it, as it is not an item.

You can’t, that’s if you don’t want to hold anything
It doesn’t cause any trouble either way
However
If you get rid of all items slots in the settings, it’ll go away
You probably don’t want that though

Please remove the platformer tag.
it is a platformer game so no.
I don’t think just because it’s a platformer you ca use the tag. This problem does not involve the map.

The cursor item in your hotbar is used to act as a place where your character isn’t holding anything. Its essential like @Zappy_Zaptos and @KON_GGC mentioned.
Please do remove the platformer tag because it shows that your problem can only work on platformer maps which is not correct, as it can work on top-down map.
