so, im going to attempt to make a dialogue system that doesn’t use popups (apart from answering questions), and I need some help with how it should be designed (mainly with how I would make it appear and disappear)
I want to design it kinda like ddlc (Doki Doki Literature Club) way of dialogue (and no this game is NOT LIKE DDLC!)
the main problem would be the text appearing letter like letter really fast

Wasnt there a star wars game someone made that had this type of dialogue?
I don’t know if this is possible or not because I haven’t tried to make something like this.
I know you said “doesn’t use popups” but you can set the popup style to banner so it’s at the bottom of your screen. (Like the image)

Yeah, but they don’t want to use pop ups. That’s why I suggested text and barriers.
thats what I was thinking, the bad thing is that using too many barrier is the memory cost, so I might be able to use one barrier, and just switch the text and gim out each time different people speak
DDLC was a great game ngl it was scary in a cool way
still havent played it, but im planning to (I’ve seen videos of it and it seems like a good game but the ending are, uh, cant say on the forums)
