Intro ↧
I’ve seen a lot of Art topics on making campfires or something related to fire, but they all used emojis. Emojis are great, but they aren’t very consistent between operating systems, and sometimes, they might not appear. Here are a few ways to make fire without using the emoji.
Examples ↧
The Bush Method
Description
A simple method using bushes…
Materials
- 6 dry bushes
- 1 log (optional)
Steps
Step 1
Use 3 bushes and tint them to your liking, so they look like this:
Step 2
Use another 3 bushes of decreasing size to create smoke and tint them gray:
Optional Step
Add a log at the bottom of the flames.
Result
This is what it looks like when you finish:
The Barrier Method
Description
An extremely simple method with barriers.
Materials
- 3 barriers
Steps
Step 1 & Result
Use all 3 barriers to create this flame:
The "Hey, Dirt" Method
Description
Extremely similar to the bush method and very easy.
Materials
- 3 ground hays (rounded edge)
- 1 dirt prop of choice
Steps
Step 1
Use all of the ground hay and tint them to your liking similar to the bushes, so they look like this:
Step 2 & Result
Place the dirt, tinting it dark gray with the larger side toward the fire:
The Dirt Way
So, for this you’ll need three props of dirt, and one prop of firewood.
First, you use the first prop of dirt and make it red.
Now, you get the second prop of dirt and make it orange. Place it in the middle of the red one and make it smaller than it.
Now get the third prop of dirt and make it yellow. Make it even smaller than the orange one.
Lastly, get some firewood and in layers, make it in the bottom and then place it under your “fire”.
Final Result:
And that’s it! If you want to add some smoke, then get a few props of dirt and make them black. Add them on top.
Goodbye!

The Text + Barrier Art Way but mostly text(?)
Ok so uh you are going to need a TON of text devices for this. To mimic the curves of a fire effectively I’m using the parentheses symbol “()” Sometimes the shape of them comes out funky so switch the text style to “Roboto”
Since there is a ton of text and stuff, I’m going to make an outline of the fire and have each text colored differently so you can mimic it better, and then you guys just have to repeat and fill it in. Ready?
Your Reference image
Ok so this will be your outline, you should be able to see how to position the text by looking at the multicolored fire outline on the right. There are 9 different pieces of text. Most of the pieces are on the max text size and have an outline of 5-10, but that’s just because I like to build big.
Now all you gotta do is fill it in with barriers or more text. Oh, almost forgot, the specific RGB that I’m using right now is
[194] [0] [0]
Alright it should look like this when you are done:
The fire on the left should be your product, the fire in the middle shows you how to fit the pieces in and uh if you can’t see it that well the thing on the right shows you the placement of the pieces.
You’ll notice it didn’t take much to fill the fire in, only 2 circle barriers and 3 text devices with an outline of 16.
Now let’s get moving to do the orange and yellow :)
This is slightly harder because you are taking the red fire, downsizing it, and making it smaller. But I’ll probably just freestyle it, so no worries.
Ok so I like totally lied, I chickened out on this and made it pretty simple, but first things first:
Orange RGB code: [225] [111] [5]
Outline Width of 7
Text style: Roboto
8 pieces of text
Ok so once you got that outline setup, fill it in. You can use the picture below for some help
Alrighty this picture is formatted the same as the other one. We have two circle barriers here and two text devices. You may notice the text looks CHUNKY and that’s because it uh has an outline width of 20…
Wooo Homerun time only Yellow left
Yeah so um yellow is going to be REALLY easy, it the smallest and doesn’t have a lot of definition. Here’s what you need to know:
Yellow RGB code: [225] [166] [5]
Outline of 7
Text style Roboto
6 pieces of text
You should know what to do with this outline by now, I’m sorry if its kinda hard to see tho
Now just to fill it in! The text has an outline of 16 and there are only two pieces
:D
Lets gooo that looks [1]
Uhh I’m noticing how everyone else has smoke and logs and I’m winging this as I’m writing so I’m kinda stuck rn lemme come back to that…
Ayy I’m back on day two and I got a simple log and smoke design for you. All the materials, their sizes and the RGB codes are in the picture below:
Ok so first things first here are the characters found in the picture “- ____ -” “(” “|”
Alright the next thing we are going to do is make the shape of the log. All you have to do is take your two circle barriers and pop one on each side of the rectangular barrier. I would definitely use grid lock for this:
Next we are gonna make a stick well sticking out the top of the log, you will need one barrier for this and the character “(” Your log should now look like this:
Now all we do is add the rest of your text on, and feel free to freestyle it, you don’t have to follow me exactly! Your log should look similar to this:
Now just pop it over the fire:
For the smoke I just took a bunch of black circle barriers of various sizes and put them to a transparency of 0.30
And lets gooo build complete!

Those were very simplistic and easy ways to make fire without the emoji, but I’ll make this a wiki so others can create more complicated flames and fires. Be creative!
