I have an idea. how about in the place of reply notifications, when we reply to a post we like said post?

Yes.
Pings, reply, pms, quote, edits, watching and self topic notifications do not work.

Solution marks and likes notifications only work.
Have tested all these out, seems like an admin problem, since the forum lost images and updated, this recently started.

But yet, when guides are wiki, the OP cannot edit the title, tags and categories, apparently other users besides the OP can do it, so it may require another update? (the forum)

But with these notification problems, maybe it’s a notification overload? We did have a photo overload so a notification overload??

In all honesty, every post and every bio saying “the forums are a wreck” “the forums are broken” or anything along those lines are completely true until this is fixed. feel free to disagree but notifications are the reason we are able to efficiently help here.
edit: maybe not the only reason, but they’re still very important.

Does not relate to any topic at all, by any I mean any topic you say that in, just clutters the entire thing with that.
And your bio is your bio that only talks about you, that’s the whole purpose of a bio.

Yes, they have been notified of the problem. Jeffo acknowleged them and said they were working on it but Josh was currently on break or something, not sure. But Gimkit has a lot on their hands and this isn’t super pressing.

There have been some forum problems and bugs recently.

More details

Almost all of these issues began on February 15th with an unclear cause (the exception here being the missing profile pictures for the system and Discobot users, which seems to be a direct result of the removal of forum images).

Here’s a list of the bugs which hopefully clears some things up since there have been several topics about forum glitches.

1. Notifications for messages, replies or posts in watched topics, edits, bookmarks, and mentions don’t work. However, users are currently notified if their post is marked as the solution or liked.
2. Badges don’t grant- most notably the New User of the Month badge wasn’t granted for February and any trust level related badges won’t update, although it’s worth noting that trust levels as a whole still function fine.
3. The users page isn’t working as it was last updated on February 15th.
4. The @system, Discobot, and forum favicon and related logos are missing. This is probably because of the removal of forum images to clear up storage space and happened in late January.
5. Solutions do not close topics and topic timers in general do not work.
6. Profile pictures typically present to the right of topics for frequent posters, original poster, and most recent poster are missing, aren’t updated, or limited.
7. System messages, such as notifications of flagged posts, are no longer sent.
8. New accounts aren’t being activated as seemingly no users have signed up in the last week.
9. Users are shown as replying for extended periods of time even when they aren’t or just posted, although this is just a visual bug and doesn’t mean anything.

Resolved issues and workarounds:

1. The absent Discobot and system profile pictures were restored manually.
2. Solved topics can be closed by a leader or moderator.

The Gimkit staff team acknowledged these problems and is working to resolve them. If you have another bug to report that isn’t listed here, please contact the moderators.

It only does it on this forum, since other forums don’t have this.

It’s probably something to do with the fact that Discorse needs to be sort of relaunched (rebuilt is the term I think) from docker or something a couple times a year just to maintain it and maybe that hasn’t happened.

Also I’m aware this topic has sort of recently moved to talking about the forum issues, which is fine with me since having a conversation about that is important, but let’s try not to stray any further from the original point of the topic.

Nope, I wrote that, and it’s true. Go to forum.creative.gimkit.com/my/messages and you’ll see you aren’t being notified of flagged and removed or restored posts.

It’s not just that. all automated actions from @system or any other bot are completely disabled until this is fixed.

Discobot works fine I think, it’s just topic timers- open topic, automatically bump, close after reply, don’t work.

Solutions have never worked in art on purpose, it’s just not enabled. Admins can change whether or not solutions are enabled for each category.

I haven’t seen any post flagged in a while actually, so yeah the worst case scenario might actually be true. don’t take my word for it though, wait for a mod to address it.

Nope, we move it to Help, mark a solution, and then back to Art to sort of circumvent the issue. So the topic has a solution and is closed but the solution can’t move around for instance.

I mean I sented 3 or 4 pm while this bug was happening and he responded so I hoping that mods are able to still received nofifcations about post being flagged.

when they first added the art categories you couldn’t mark a solution and I pretty sure that still happening so you have to manually switch categories and back to mark a solution
