Get 2 seperate Inventory Item Managers(IIM) that manage the item. Set them to have 2 different maximum amounts, one higher and one lower. Set the lower max amount IIM’s used by default setting to yes and the higher max amount IIM’s use by default setting to no. Then get your vending machine and wire it to the higher max amount IIM [item purchased → activate inventory item manager].
