Custom Hitboxes Guide! (Mini Guide)

Hello! We all look at props and are like “Dang that hitbox is annoying” and we turn of collision to make in no odd. But it never can just look right can it? Well this is a REALLY small guide on how to add a custom hitbox to any prop!
My Example Below.
Step 1: Get ANY prop you want! I did metal shelf.

Step 2: Make it have 0 Collision. (Or it wont work)

Step 3: Get a Barrier Device and set it to settings not visible in game. And set its color to red. (The color is optional! It just makes it easier to know what it is in build mode)

Step 4: Re-Size it to the size of your custom hitbox on your prop.

Step 5: Place it on the area where the hitbox is for your prop!

Now you are done!

Here is how mine looked

Now the original hitbox is way bigger than my custom one! But with my custom one it makes it more realistic.

Without: I wouldn’t be able to be behind the shelf.
With: I can stand behind it but can’t walk through it to where it looks odd!

This idea of this is to make more realistic and nicer looking hitboxes because the ones in the game kinda trash as of now.

As you can see this red box i made is a not fully up to scale but really close hitbox for the self! But the new one I made had fixed it to be more accurate.

That’s all for this Guide! Thanks!

Good guide, here are some pros and cons:

  • Great intro, explained the problem and the possible fix greatly
  • Explained how it worked in simple, concise terms
  • Added image of final product
  • Cons - add more pictures
  • Bold some important points, as some people might miss it thinking it was unimportant (though this shouldnt really be a problem cause its a mini guide)
  • Last, some jokes or smth to keep the short-attention-spanned audience engaged (no offense to anyone, I myself am also one so)
    Overall, 7.9/10

I mean, if you can put your mind to work toward “block off areas with precision” we have a pretty right idea on how we could use the barrier.
Also, it looks quite unorganized, sorry to say.
