Counters Are Wonderful

Activation states. You can’t really “set” the counter to macro r without the chance of it needing 2 activations.

You can do activation states.
Each trigger can either simulate infinite signal pushers, or you can combine two of them to simulate a flippable switch.

You can, but it’s not easy to set the counter to something.

? Yeah it is? wdym it’s not easy to set the counter to something

Without knowing what the counter is set to, y or can’t set the counter to a specific value without using a more complex system than broadcasting on a single channel.

Why wouldn’t you know what the counter was set to? That seems like a pretty simple thing to do.

Sure it takes more memory, but my point is that they can still do it. If we didn’t have triggers, we’d be in much of the same place. Sure, it’d cost more memory to use zones as pressure plates and counters as activation savers, but it’s possible, and that’s what counts. @getrithekd

If we do, then it takes more memory than using a trigger.

Erm… well it’s both. Potatoes weren’t part of the conversation, counters were.

but arguing about it is not forum related so…

the discussion is always about (or should always be about) gkc, so anything off-topic is not forum related either
