As I’ve read throughout the forum, I’ve seen references to an “Old Forum.” Am I dumbb or what is this?
there was a forum before discourse[1], but one flag would remove a post there, so someone abused that and destroyed the old forums

This is a question for old old forumers, because I wasn’t a part of the old forum. Basically they switched to discourse for more moderation.

BEFORE the old forums, there was a “creative-help” channel in the gimkit discord. BUT, the OLD forums were made because it was too chaotic and confusing. I joined the old forums (and the community) on May 19th (of 2023), and wasn’t really active so I can’t tell you much. The old forums were made a few days before I joined (I think). There also used to be a role on the discord help channel called “Featured Helper” for the most experienced gimkit creative-ers of the time, and the role was given out in the old forums too, but it got removed. BH and @Cryptoraider_Gemkit had the role on the old forums, and Demon and some other guy I think had it. That last part was random though.
So the timeline was:
#creative-help on Discord (w/ featured helpers) → Old Forums (w/ featured helpers AND actually had a code-sharing category that quickly got deleted because it was fundamentally flawed) → New Forums (w/o featured helpers)
I got most of this info from BLACKHOLE the donut himself, he actually lived through this and probably knows more, heck, he’s writing an essay ABOUT forum history, so go ask him for a history lesson if you have anymore questions.
