Use a display for the board, will maybe take up 32k memory for 50x50

One property per square that stores a number representing the peice

Then a bunch of triggers that compute the legs moves and checks and checkmates

How are you planning on detecting legal moves?

Block code, at that point it’s just making a chess engine in scratch lol

It would wait for the player to make a move, then check if the king is in check, if the move they made put the king in check, if they made a mega move with the piece, etc

Dang but the 75 block limit will be hard, and castling and long castling detection, and checkmate and en passant would be hard.

For this just use trigger chains, where at the end of a code, you put a broadcast on channel block
