Character Chooser

I need ideas on how to setup character chooses,

  1. The game auto chooses it for you (kinda hate)

  2. you can choose it with buttons

  3. Kinda like #2 but with popups

  4. You could have it so you can choose for other people. So it randomly assigns another player and you choose their character. But you dont know who you are choosing for.

and any more you can suggestion and I will add to this list.

I think the easiest would be choosing with polyps, so have a button and the pop up should have options so you can choose.
