Hello, my wonderful, overdramatic, well-meaning, sleep-deprived demons >:3
That was a lot of adjectives, Ars.
Shush, half these people don’t know what a “grammar” is.
Anyways, I’ve seen a lot of help topics saying things like “I need ideas for areas/rooms” so I searched before I posted (because apparently posting a dupe guide is the forums equivalent of starting WW3) and didn’t find anything. So here we are, my first guide in more than a year
Anyone can edit, as long as you
- Add something actually useful
- Don’t troll
- Keep everything on-topic
- Use the little “i” in the top to explain why you are editing
In addition, images will be added when I have time.

THIS IS A GUIDE FOR KIDS
Editor, start the guide!
Invisible Islands
This is a great one if you want some dreamy, ragequit-but-it-still-looks-good aesthetic.
Mainly constructed of barriers with collision off and a light barrier that partially blends in. You can add a boat (that’s a nice touch) floating through the air, and maybe some NPCs in it if it helps the plot/lore of your game. The small periods with different text colors are also nice, for some particle effects.
That was my version–you can do better.
Ars you spent like half an hour on that–
NO I DID NOT Please, I’m not good at prop art. Mercy, all you art worshippers.
Glitched Maze
This is a jumpscare-worthy, dark, and hard to navigate area that can be used as the site of a boss battle. Some notable things to include are teleporters to hazardous areas, zones where you can fall out of the world, and hidden sentries.
Mushroom Forest
A mushroom Forest is generally a peaceful or safe biome with many places to hide. You can use props to make many different sized mushrooms with collision off, so it’s easy to hide. Vines and ruins are also a good touch, and fireflies make it slightly dreamy.
We all know you got this idea from DSMP
No I didn’t! Although a particular character does have a Mushroom King lore arc
Wait–Editor, cut that out!
Mossy Ruins
The mossy ruins are a good place to include loot chests and wild animals. It’s especially nice to add bear traps (like people had a million years ago–
Civilization didn’t exist a million years ago.
I’m not a history major, okay? Anyways, adding things like pits, moss to slow you down, mud, and bear traps can make a game a lot more fun, because people who know the map well can have an advantage.
Quicksand Plains
The quicksand plains is an interesting one–patches of quicksand that slow you down can take the edge off of PvP. You can add plants and bushes around the edges of the mud, or damager zones that can simulate “drowning” in the sand.
Lava Castle
This one is something that I find interesting. Make something out of stone terrain, (if you want to make it cool, have wooden poles to attach your terrain to the ceiling) add lanterns and any medieval props you want. Add a no collision orange barrier on the ground. Add a zone, wire that to a damaged or respawn device. This is useful either as parkour, or maybe a PvP map. It can be used for almost anything.
Like covering up a mur–
Shush! This is supposed to be kid friendly!
Sakura Farm
This can be used in a peaceful game where you’re supposed to just explore around. It’s tranquil, has some NPCs to interact with, and has a shop! Some nice touches are flower emojis floating around, the flower prop itself, and tinted leaves to show petals on the wind.
(I didn’t make the trees, that was ShadowDragon44. But the house was made by yours truly [ahem… @CommanderGOAT])
Wintry Wasteland
This is just a quick example of an easy way to give a slightly eerie and decrepit atmosphere to any pathways you might have in a game, as the muddy terrain and overgrown roots imply a certain level of disrepair in the trail, and you can also have sentries to attack that are appropriately themed to a winter/spooky area, such as Ozis, Shadeborn, Fuzzfoots, etc.
The cave mouth at the end of the trail (credits to @ShadowDragon44 !) could be used as an entry into a secondary area, and the stones should be pigmented to varying shades of dark blue to provide a frozen appearance. You could even add some destroyed market stalls and carts as a sort of ambushed trading caravan!

Crystal Caves
The terrain used for this would be a mix of dark scraps, dynamic stone with dynamic ores sporadically appearing. The crystals would be formed via several ice barriers formatted to various sizes stacked onto each other and made different colors. You could also use large stone props with altered colors and reduced size as miniature crystal clusters (Make it so that you take damage from stepping on these >:D). Ozis would still be a good sentry skin for this, although Frostington, Icebeard , and Harold would also be good choices.

Crystal Caves (With Water)
So uhm, this is kinda how I see the Crystal Caves, I wanted to add it to the Crystal caves category above, but I didn’t wanna mess with King_Thunder_Alt1’s caves soooo…
This is my take on the caves, basically the ground and walls are all rock props, but with different brightness and rotation, the water is just barriers (with lighter barriers towards to top to make it look nice :3), the little drip from the ceiling was made by putting underscores in text (I forgor which font) and coloring + rotating them to look like dripping water. The crystals were made by taking an ice barrier and changing their alpha to make them look transparent (Not my idea, credit to @4314 for thinking of this). I used the spider web emoji to make webs, and spider props for the spiders (90000000 IQ move).
If you wanted to add more, you could:
-
Use this crystal design (made by Koneko-san)
-
Add a waterfall
(Waterfall made by @CommanderGOAT , sorry this is horrible)
(Nah bro, it looks cool :>) -
Add fish swimming in the water (galaxy fish would be good, they match the theme)
Maybe a penguin or two would be nice…
I know you’re hungry just wait until lunch please

Okay, I will add more later… if I figure out how to make this a wiki.
Which will take forever with your IQ
Be quiet.
Also, drop either a like or constructive criticism [1] :3
Thanks, muffins!
