Apocalypse: A Brief Overview of What the New Game-Mode Could Bring to GKC

Introduction

Hello, all! About a day ago, the good people over at Gimkit HQ released the new game-mode, “Apocalypse”. A zombie survival-type mode set in an atomic wasteland, it showcases a plethora of new weap0ns, props, and mechanics to Gimkit’s collection. And as is the case with everything, they’ll eventually make their way to Creative, too.
Out of excitement, though, I decided to throw together a little guide to discuss everything I observed within the new game-mode, to bring up the potential some of these things might have if they come to GKC. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

HUGE DISCLAIMER

This guide is created purely with the hopes that Gimkit will add everything from the new game-mode to Creative, but just know that there will most likely be things that they will not.

Props

Disclaimer

NONE OF THESE PROP NAMES ARE OFFICIAL, JUST KNOW.

Aside from all the new mechanics Gimkit has thrown into this gamemode, there’s the addition of a bunch of new props. I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot of western-style games once these props come to Creative.
Here’s a list of all the props you can find in the map:

Updates/Mechanics

Within the new mode, there are a HECK ton of changes to things.
I’ll sort 'em out here:
Props:

  • Can track damage
  • Can interact w/ sentries (damage will register in the system)
  • Can be damaged before the game starts*

Sentries:

  • CAN MOVE?!?!?
  • Can target and attack props
  • Can have a visible health-bar
  • Have many new skins (Rotter, Thornz, Geckasaurus(Reskin), Whirlwind, Graveler, Cagewalker, Truckatron(Reskin)*
Skins

Rotter

Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.37.01 PM
Thornz
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.38.07 PM
Geckasaurus
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.38.49 PM
Whirlwind
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.42.24 PM
Graveler
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.40.48 PM
Cagewalker
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.43.36 PM
Truckatron
Screenshot 2024-10-17 4.44.30 PM

  • Have the ability to create a smaller sentry upon destruction (Graveler)
  • Can be toggled to either attack players or props (or both?)*
  • Have a new melee weəpon*

GUI:

Weap0ns

Apocalypse has brought some interesting new weap0ns into the game, such as:

The Stoneburster Screenshot 2024-10-17 8.10.58 AM
To sum it up, this is essentially just a re-skin of the zapper, dealing 18 damage with the rock projectiles it fires. Not too much range, either. About as mid as mid weap0ns get.

The Prickler Screenshot 2024-10-17 8.11.03 AM
I like this one a lot. It fires little thorns out which deal 40 damage, and it’s projectile speed and range are insane.

and lastly,

The Twister Screenshot 2024-10-17 8.11.08 AM
If I had to compare this weap0n to anything, it’d probably be the Evil Eye. Dealing 140 damage with its dust-particle projectiles, it’s a good weap0n for heavy enemies. Only downside is that it has a small ammo capacity, but that’s a fair nerf considering how good this thing is.

That’s all for this overview! I had fun coming back to do this little guide, so let me know what you thought!

props should have the space ship from One Way Out that you can find, but you should proboblay do this in the nolt

Nice! I don’t think this should be in Community Made Guides. Maybe Devices??? But still neat!
I’m most excited for the “Menu” Device and moving sentries.

Cool guide, maybe consider checking this out for more features about it?

The wiki provides more information about the Apocalypse, you could add those in your guide.

Thanks for your input! I opted to put this in Community Made Guides, though, because it outlines the game-mode rather than bringing it up as a discussion topic.

You forgot about the open variation of the “disaster shelter”

Maybe that was the entrance version?

One more thing:

Perhaps “Gadgets” could be a better replacement for “Weapons”?

whenever someone says TD I don’t think of Tower Defense because one of my favorite games is called TD alot, short for the disaster. so I get confused alot when someone says TD now.

Maybe we won’t get the crash site of the Alphastar, because we still don’t have the DLD house props and I doubt they were made individually…

I have to Bump this guide

I hope they make it so sentries can move.

They are making it like that-
It’s been teased

Moving sentries mechanics are only available on Apocalypse right now, it might release to GKC in future updates.

You’re absolutely right! I’ll go in and fix that now.
Edit: Fixed!
