Got nothing to add to your lobby? Need a way to honor anyone who contributed to your game? Well, a Hall of Fame for your map might be just what you need! In this guide, I’ll be giving basic advice on how to construct a pedestal (complete with a person on it), how to choose who to put in your HOF, and some decorations to liven up the place!
How to Make a Basic Pedestal
To make an (absurdly simple) pedestal, you’ll need 2 metal signs, 2 metal poles, a stool (black) and a sentry. First off, downsize both of the signs to roughly the second sign shown:
Then stack them like this.
The poles you keep regular size, then put at the sides of the sign stack:
Then add the black stool (same size) to the VERY BOTTOM layer. I recently learned you have to do this so the sentry doesn’t sink into it (why, gimkit physics, why??). After you do this, center it between the poles so only the top part shows.
Next, you take a sentry (or an NPC, if you have the season ticket) and make it the gim you want to represent the person the pedestal is for. Make sure you put the sentry on team one, and the game mode on free-for-all, as well as putting the sentry on the VERY TOP layer. (If you’re playing a team game, put an invisible circle border in front of the sentry, and make it’s range as low as possible, plus the worst fire rate with a common zapper) Place the sentry on the stool, and there you are!
You can place down text to tell who the person is, or just leave it blank. The text would be placed somewhat like this:
And then you have a finished pedestal!
But Who to Include?
The answer is pretty simple: anyone who inspired the game, helped with it (on GKC forums, for example), the person who made the thumbnail, and other people who made a significant impact on your game!
Great, Now I've Got a HOF... But How Do I Decorate It?
Some ideas for decorations in your hall of fame are:
- A rug leading down the line of pedestals
- Some potted plants on the start and end of the line of pedestals
- Some barrier art or props near or on each pedestal that relate to that person’s contribution to the game (ex. a barrier art paint palette for the thumbnailist)
- And any other idea you have to spruce up your HOF!
(I might add some pictures to this later, but I can’t access Gimkit right now)
More Pedestal Designs
If you want to change up the pedestal design, here’s some more ideas:
- Shrink down another sign & grow the poles a bit to create a “cased-in” design
- No more yet…

And, since this is a hall of fame guide, here’s the HOF for everyone who helped me out with this (aka everyone who stopped to help a distressed newbie who was trying to figure out the game mechanics to make this):
