Hey there. Most of you know me… But I took a page out of pho’s book and used an Alt.

Lately, the forums haven’t been at their best. There are raids every day, impersonators[1], and alternate accounts, which, as a wise phoenix once said, is ironic, because this is an alt. However, I do believe, that these forums will once again rise, and once again become great.

We will get through this.
Sometimes you just gotta flag and move on
Hold on to a strand of Hope, because sometimes that’s all you have.

There are a lot of us leaving. Not me I’ll always be here

But until something changes we just got to stick it out. which means we have a couple options.

BAN JEFFO

so this probably isn’t happening

BAN EVERY SINGLE RAGEBAITER
Also probably not happening, yet its a bit easier than banning jeffo

Hold Protests
This would most likely just get the forums shut down, as a wise phoenix once said, we are just a thorn in gimkits side. This isn’t the way to fixing our forums

Stick it Out
Continue to make this place as good as it can be, and just wait until change happens. Change will happen, I promise.

Well, no matter what you think we should do, I’ll be here for a while, and I will remember. I will See you on the other side. Until then, Just warm your hands with a light of Hope.

This is likely the one and only time I’ll be commenting on the condition of the forums.

Most of the trolling that occurs can just be completely ignored.The forums still function as they should. People’s questions are answered, guides are made, and people help each other.
The raids and such aren’t inhibiting the function of the forums. If we simply flag-and-move-on whenever we see another topic comprised of hundreds of lines of hieroglyphs, it will be as if they don’t exist. It’s not even like they post that often, just every once in a while with a few concentrated raids.

The only issue they present that can be mildly irritating is spam flagging. Even then, most posts that get taken down as a result of it at least deserved it in some capacity, and it’s rare the perpetrators are able to get enough to flags on a post to take it down.
This is largely the same opinion as Jeffo expressed in his response to being notified of the raids.

In regards to other veterans leaving, It’s certainly sad to see them go, but it’s ultimately just a part of how a forum works. Eventually, people invested in a community have to make their exit. You can’t stay here forever. While GKC is a good introductory game engine, its limits can be quite restrictive at times, and eventually people move on to greater goals.

Ultimately, the forums still stand, and anyone that has a decent question is answered swiftly. And if that isn’t the case? Just give me a ping. The number of technical users hasn’t been super high recently, and I’m always willing to take the call.

tl;dr, The forums aren’t in a state of ruin, and it still serves its purpose. People do eventually have to leave, but that isn’t a bad thing. It just means they’ve moved on to something greater.

ok, here is a game plan!!! We need to let him know how we feel about this! WE NEED JUSTICE! I feel like he is not paying attention to the forums, LIKE COME ON THIS IS ON THE RISE OF RUINS! We will go and BOYCOTT smth (that always seems to work). WHO WILL RISE WITH ME TO CONQUER THE MAKER OF GIMKITTTT!!

That’s not the point. The point is that all of our other solutions are ridiculous, and the real solution is that we carry on making this place good.

sticking it out will probably work better and less bans and ruin :folded_hands:

iirc when Jeff demoted all the TL4s he said he’ll appoint some later when he’s ready, that time will eventually come
while threatening the forums may help him realize the need for TL4s it’s also simultaneously destroying it from bans

This message was created to tell us to have hope in the forums. This person says that the only way to fix the forums is not to rebel and take it back [1] and instead keep on answering folks’ questions and continuing to make guides and continuing to be role models for newgens.

According from the song “Free” from your all-time favorite k-pop movie[1], “we can’t fix it if we never face it”[2]

I was (and am) a part of another discourse community, and over there, there were a lot of spammers. There was even one that used an API and several alt accounts to spam. Eventually, we got over it by contacting the admins and telling them to ban that spammer.[3]
However here, there is much more activity and therefore more spam. I don’t think contacting the admins will work, because the spammers can simply make another account. Our best bet would be to fight back (with flags, not words, another lesson I learned) and keep fighting back until they leave.

If you want this forum to change, stop complaining or make ridiculous plans and make it actually happen.

The raids have mostly stopped.
Remember in Nagi’s ban post, the raiders themselves said they feel bad and are against raiding.
I haven’t seen many alts either, I still don’t recognize half of you, but that’s okay, we really need some good newgens like clam, beans, or riff to replace the forumers that left.

The worst period of these “dark times” are over anyway, I myself left cuz I just got too addicted. It’s still tragic to see literally anyone and everyone I’ve known here leave so suddently, but as you all said, the forums are still fine.

the discobot raid would have had a MUCH better result if we had a regular to rename those horrific demonic titles, only members were online during midnight. and I’m pretty sure hth managed to clean it all up in the morning

we just need more TL3

GimKit would just shut this whole place down to save money

The alt accounts are abandoned after raids, since they’re not useful anymore

Reality Check,

In the long run, just flagging and moving on is not really helpful.

Yes it stops it temporarily but what is stopping them from making another account? Nothing.

During one raid everyone ran out of flags and couldn’t do anything, thus, Jeffo is pretty much the only option in the long run.

Options 1-3 were never actual options. They were more like joke options/what if’s because the OP already knows they aren’t reasonable.

On the topic of better ideas

Option 5 - Ask Jeffo to pwetty pwease fix the Forum’s (might work soon)

Option 6 - Everyone leaves, if everyone helpful leaves, new players are confused, this leads to less players, which ultimately leads to less season ticket sales, which leads to less money for Gimkit (will probably work in a year or two)

How many flags does it take to get someone banned? If we use them strategically, we can get some ragebaiters gone.

Yes…that’s true. I just hit TL3 so I can finally flag. If we can ban alts during raids, that could disrupt the raid. Also, not flagging at all and just letting raid get naturally buried could work. If they bumped a post up, then we could deal with that post.

ok seriously, this guy made a statement so goo-d, even gummy bee would give him free glue. also, if you, yes you, the person reading this, are considering quitting, i say do one of 2 things: take a long break and check every so often and only announce it on your bio so that there are no ultra dramatic reactions. the second thing is doing the same thing except you just leave.
@Scary_Friend yeah i never understood why people blamed jeff, i mean he’s trying his best and he only banned that person (at least as far as i’m aware) because someone was impersonating for no good reason, and he wasn’t being careful, but i would’ve done the same thing, same goes for a lot of people.
