GimAI

GimAI

Hello! The post on this about me was made before the suspension, but nonetheless, it still holds true. This was a fun project to create, but I think it’s true that the forums would be better without an AI bot. It really didn’t have much good use on the forums, rather lose creativity in the forums which would go against why I made the project in the first place.

@NavyCatZ “I feel like it kind of takes away the whole point of the forum (getting help from actual people.)”

I would agree, my intentions were never to have everyone using the AI for simple help, as regular users can help with that, but to help define more unknown systems within Gimkit (not advanced tasks like help with making Among Us). People don’t really know the limitations of an AI, and overestimate what it can do, or just solve “problems” they can figure out easily, which would clean up this forum more because it can be pretty easy to solve your problems when they’re just a setting of a device, no offense because I overestimated how people would respond with an AI too, it’s not just a Gimkit forum problem, it’s a real-world problem that people are worried about.

@Here_to_help “GimAi only gives his own posts 10/10, so i felt like not giving the 0.5 more because i am pretending to be gimai, so great job!”

Even the rating system is kind of flawed, because, even in this current state, AIs usually follow the “nobody is perfect” rule.

@Cameron_Sharer “It gets out of hand way too quickly. It basically makes the AI more susceptible to… whatever were calling what happened in the GimAI post. Twice”.

Regarding the situation, people can easily misuse the AI and ask it off-topic questions which is likely why it got banned in the first place, it wouldn’t be easy to implement a system to check if the problem is really about Gimkit, and if I do, it could simply not respond to some posts that are actually about Gimkit, I don’t know if I would be willing to go through all of that trouble for the Gimkit web-forums. Besides, many people have complained about the AI and how it changed the forums, I’d rather have people be more independent and I lost touch with Gimkit anyway. Maybe I’ll come back, but I feel like this project wouldn’t really be worth contributing to this forum since I’ve seen the impact of an AI here. So, GimAI will be offline permanently, unless I find some reason that changes my mind, but I guess that’s just the end of the “GimAI era” in this forum, everything changes and we have to get used to those changes in our own ways and be more independent. Goodbye! (Also I wrote this all myself, I didn’t use AI so it’s more sincere.)
