I had a friend and he copied my ideas on gkc (Gimkit creative) without permission, what should I do?
Idk how this has anything to do with gimkit creative.
How is the forums supposed to solve irl problems?
Sorry if this sounds a little rude.
Hm, I thought I saw in gkc guidlines is that you can’t copy others maps. Your fine.
This isn’t rlly much related to building GKC maps, as Xuch23 said, this is an off-topic post, but if the map your friend made is entire (majority) of yours then you can report their map to team gimkit once discovery opens again.
*Also think abt credits.
Not the entire majority, he just stole many ideas from my map. If its off topic I’ll close it ig.
What was the game about? There’s a difference between stealing and using such broad ideas that it’s impossible to NOT use them.
well, its a diffuculty chart, I put him in the credits cuz he’s helping me. But then he went. made his own, and added the same things I made and on the same summits.
Well if it’s that then i don’t see how it could count as copying, since there’s like 500 difficulty charts out there, mostly the same.
Even if it’s the same name, if the name is kinda default, flagging might not do anything.
Oh yikes, then that might be stealing. Same names and everything? If it’s published, the best I can suggest is flagging the map and maybe just talking to the guy, since he’s your “friend”.
well not all difficulty charts have the same summits
I know, so I was letting it go, but then I started seeing the same summits as my game
I practically started hyperventilating.
The first summit is just walking, the second is like 1-2 jumps, third has a double jump, etc.
Ok im leaving this discussion.
Effortless, easy, medium, Usually. Yeah I know that.
Alright so I might’ve just realized that a difficulty chart is like a single jump per difficulty.
@Gaming-Phoenix this really could be a case of accidental plagiarism.
Anyways, I’m not going to interact on this topic anymore, as it IS off-topic. Like I said before, I would suggest flagging if you truly think they stole your idea.
Yes, you are correct. You cannot directly copy from another map. Now, there is a certain extent to this rule; if we both make an Among Us remake, that doesn’t mean I copied from you. They must have very similar mechanics and provide sufficient evidence to back yourself up when submitting a report. Don’t go pointing fingers.
