I’m making a battle-royal game where you spawn in a random state. As time passes, the borders start to fall, and you and the other players fight for control of that territory. The catch is that each state has a different quirk. For instance, in Idaho, you can grow potatoes to boost your health, in Kentucky, you can hide in Mammoth Cave, and in South Dakota, you can turn the four faces of Mount Rushmore alive! Can you give me some other ideas?
In New York, you could have them have an Empire State Building lookout so the player could see what’s happening in the states around them without having to leave their state.
Gah, my brain’s drawing a blank..
Everything’s bigger in Texas right?
So you could make things in the state of Texas more enlarged?
I live in Texas so I’m kinda loyal…
cool! however, you’ll really ever be fighting one or two people at a time, and my states aren’t that big, so maybe not. I’ll write it down, though!
Another thing I’m struggling with: the little states. some have clear defining traits like Vermont (maple syrup!), but a lot of them just don’t do much and are really tiny on a map.
One exception is Rhode Island. It’s absolutely tiny, like only 2 blocks, but when ever you step on it, you have a 10% chance of teleporting anywhere.
I know, I know, you want me to make my states bigger so that the smaller ones have more space. But have you considered how much space states like Texas, California, and Montana take up? I think I’ve found a good balance. Here’s a picture of Washington for scale.
Remember, by the time the mississippi river becomes crossable, there will by only 2 players left. The’ll have to actually find each other!
I actually have a plan for Texas. The player can force another player to have a western-style duel with them. The players will have take turn firing their gadget with a 50% chance of actually hitting them.
Maybe for Arizona (Me faithful state) if you don’t have enough water you get -10% less speed.
If you touch cactuses, then you take damage
Arizona Quirk
4 Corners: When you reach the Four Corners monument, if you touch all 4 corners at the same time, something mysterious will happen. (Instance: Open up a secret passage)
I think pennsilvania has like a bell, so u can make it a gadget i guess
Yea thats better
Give missisipi control of the river or force other players to try and spell it
Adding off of @Zappy_Zaptos
Maybe if you ring the bell, it alerts your location, but it gives you a buff
And for big rivers, what if you could control dams, and change the river’s water level and intensity
States? Don’t forget Florida! (The sunshine state!)
For Florida, you could add a beach, and if you stay in the sun too long, you take 5 damage per minute. You can stop the agony by putting on sunscreen or going into the water… (I seriously recommend doing that if you’re actually in Florida during the summer…)
For California, the golden state, or that’s one of its names, maybe you could do a bossfight which gives a golden (legendary) gadget if you beat it.
But if you stay to long you get slower and are effectively encased in gold.
You should do an ohio state where the quirk is you lock everyone in a room filled with brainrot ![]()
For a pre-determined time of course.
Sorry, had to eat dinner. Arizona has the grand canyon! I love the bell idea. I really don’t think that someone’s going to stay on the very edge of florida for an entire minute. California has a “movie deal” where you can bribe someone to have mercy on them. I AM NOT DOING BRAINROT.
Again, any small-state ideas? ones like connectucut and delaware really have me stumped
If you’re wondering, I was born in Oregon but moved to Tennessee. My great-great-great-grandfather actually made Crater Lake a national park !

Rhode Island you could do if players have to attack they have to lose speed, strength, and maybe other debuffs “shrinking” their whole spectrum of power when they enter, since Rhode Island is miniscule.
I think this will be really fun! Is it possible to actually increase/decrease a player’s size?
You can make a small camera view to zoom in on a player but there is no direct way to change a player’s size.
