I actually deviated my my original inspiration

that’s like asking me how to walk?
you just uh. do it. I can tell you how I did the effects but drawing in general- you just do it.

I used kleki.com it’s also drawing pad/tablet/pen compatible (which I’ve been using it to practice with my new artist’s toy: drawing pad )

I usually set my stabilizer to 3 on there to get smooth lines, and line thickness to 9~10 for gimkit art

Also, random feedback for your game from the video:

I found it difficult to tell who is speaking at a time, especially since the text boxes/colors are exactly the same , and “some kid” and “scarflet” both start with “s”.

I’ve actually made it so “Some Kid” is replaced with whatever your username is.
There was a particular moment where I did get confused with who was speaking, but I thought that was mostly because I had made the dialogue really poorly. I had to merge 2 dialogue paths, and there didn’t feel like a very natural way to do it. Most of the dialogue in the demo I showed probably won’t be in the release anyway.

I assume if you or the OP wanted it redone you would have to change the character a bit

I love that style! the lighting and shiny bits really pop!
I wish I could somehow import some of this art into the game, 'cause in-game Scarflet isn’t the prettiest.

Scarflet is a Female if you couldn’t tell,

I don’t think Scarflet’s pronouns are ever mentioned in official Gimkit material, and the design I made for Scarflet isn’t super gender-expressive when you don’t have the expressions and blush it/she/they/he makes.
Not that it’s an inaccurate assumption, I just think the other interpretations aren’t necessarily wrong. Mostly just because the other interpretations seem funny to me.
