Nice! As a previous user of the outlineless method, I would recommend using layers & clipping (layer 1 basic elliptical Gim shape, layer 2 clips on layer 1 to do color) so that you don’t get this bump:
I’m being very nitpicky though, I think it’s great for your first time!

I would suggest making the eyes evenly sized and the purple flag’s coloring more filled in.
And adding some shading, some flavor.
