The Trigger is not the Best Device for Blocks

This number might have changed, but aren’t there only 10 devices that are compatible with blocks? Although I suppose they are quite commonly used, so it shouldn’t be a problem. In my opinion, triggers are still great for organization and have so many other usages that piggybacking on one isn’t a problem.

I mean, it would be a problem if blocks were used a ton in the game. That extra 40 memory would be useful for creating more blocks.

I wish there was a device called “Block”…

I mean, the blocks are there to modify devices and game settings, it would be of no practical use.

Like the trigger but no extra memory and no setting the trigger has no extra functions in its blocks

uh oh

the bots are coming back

I’m gonna agree and disagree with you here. First off, sure it saves memory, but it only saves about 40 memory, and sure, it can add up, but it only adds up with big systems where you need organization. Trust me, staying organized with your blocks is a necessity. So there, I disagree.
But at the same time, I do agree that the Trigger in itself might not be the best. Triggers aren’t very flexible, and sometimes its better to use a different device based on what the code is, and what your map is like. For example, while my checkers system used a ton of triggers, Monopoly uses a ton of item granters. Item granters are my personal favorite. Of course, most of the block code had to do with cash, so using item granters helped me just be able to grant and take away the cash straight from the code itself, instead of having to broadcast and use up a ton more memory.

Overall, you make a good and fair point, but I still think organization is key, and that you shouldn’t just add code to whatever random device that can save you 40 memory.

it is around this size btw

What is around that size?

the block device

Uhh…
So I’m gonna agree with bob over there that the block device would be pretty much a waste. It’s basically like if Gimkit added the repeater of block code; other things can already do it, and it would be useless. Plus, blocks are meant to be an add-on to the devices to help them function…
Not to be a device.

I get your point but I;m just trying to say it is organizable

I mean, I guess. But, in theory, it would probably take up a bit more than 500 memory too because it would need to connect to wires and stuff (being a device, and assuming it has the wire pulse option like every other device), which might make it around 510, which isn’t a lot but still useless, and it isn’t really going to improve other devices and systems improve.

True but let’s say u have 500 mem left and you need blocks that is like probably it’s only really good use

If you have 500 memory left just go into a preexisting device like bob said in this topic…

Thats the thing, we want it to be useful for multiple things; not just one.

The whole idea of this topic is to make a block that isn’t 540/515 memory.

ok

triggered bump

More people need to know simple-ish maps can be memory efficient. Imagine what we could do with saving memory!!
(Looking at a pressure re-creation…)

Huh, i don’t understand

I’m making a recreation of the underrated Roblox game Pressure, as a tribute to my best friend irl…it’s using lots of memory but then I remember this so

Dang, that’s really sad D:
