Saferoom 1 time cycle extra stuffs

ok so
after someone who threatened to eat me suggested a day cycle
I decided to add one and now it’s working : D
although it IS working, I have no idea of what things I should add to the evening and morning cycles.
(examples: Night/midnight is when Bramble and Lucy can spawn, patches of Violet get done blooming, Sunset is when Patches of Violet start blooming)
Soooooooooo yhur..
I need special mechanics/ideas for
Morning cycle (the first cycle)
Evening cycle (after morning cycle)
I probably am gonna add a Dawn cycle, so ples tell idears for da future me : P

For the evening cycle, you could add a lil notification that’s like “[number] seconds/minutes until midnight. Find a safe place.”

If you are willing to take the risk, you can collect the patches of Violet and they can let you see all the monsters for [number] seconds before becoming ‘dull’ and just a violet.

special traders have a chance to spawn during day

i mean theres no rlly “safe spots”
(ikr my logic is so great where parasites can eat you out of nowhere)
there’s no visual entities (unless u count the bl!ndness effect)

naur the courtyard is very VERY small
and people haven’t been there for about 2ish months bc Greg hasn’t ordered from ppl since 3 months ago

basically I have a block code that happens at night and chooses 50/50
50% of Lucy (parasite)
50% of Bramble (Bramble ankle brambler)
and the entities go away at dawn/morning

I’m not really familiar with this soooo… expect a LOT of questions.


In the courtyard, in the morning, maybe have like a side quest to find something that will protect you from getting eaten by Lucy. (yummers!)

naur there’s no stopping Lucy : P
they’re always set to spawn at night (50% chance) and I don’t think there’s a way to stop Lucy while keeping Bramble

ok but you might have to pull up a diff tab for yt since even Saferoom 1 is long : /
saferoom 1/courtyard
10 rooms with dangerous stuff
player has to retrieve 6 bundles of crates and 6 recipes/papers
Morning cycle lasts 7.5 seconds
Evening cycle lasts 7.5 seconds
Sunset cycle lasts 7.5 seconds
Night lasts 32.5 seconds
Midnight lasts 32.5 seconds

Already done concepting time cycle mechanics:
Sunset cycle
Patches of violets start blooming.

Night cycle
Entities like Lucy and Bramble start spawning.
Streetlights start emitting light.
Patches of Violet finish blooming.

Midnight cycle
Same as Night.
Random vines can block your way and you need to cut them.

You have to find 6 bundles of crates
6 recipes/papers

In this saferoom, there is no timer, so you technically COULD stay there forever

Except…
When the crates and recipes/papers are collected
there’s a 26.75 second timer where you have to get back to the elevator from room 10
If the timer runs out and you don’t get there In time, you de4th.

Patches of violet
Difficulty rating: 1.25 out of 5
Spawns after blooming (sunset cycle)
If stepped on, does 15 damage and 10 Po!son damage. (1 damage over the span of 12 seconds)
gives slowness III until movement UIs clicked again.
Has a chance to make you drop an item.
Disabled by getting near it and shearing it.

Parasite (Lucy)
Diffculty rating: 1.25 out of 5
Spawns after Sunset cycle
Warning is you get bl!ndness I.
After 5.9 seconds, you get dealt 25 damage and 5 continuous damage (every 1.5 seconds, does 5 damage)
Goes away by you clicking the shear UI.

Bramble
Difficulty rating: 1.75 out of 5
Spawns after Sunset cycle.
Warning is you taking 10 damage, Slowness I, and Bl!ndness I
2.5 secs after the warning, you get dealt 15 damage, Slowness II, and Bl!ndness II.
3 secs after the 2nd segment, you get slowness V (aka no movement ur stuck ur done ur ded), 14 continuous damage every 2 seconds, and Bl!ndness IV (0.97 alpha transparency black barrier)
Goes away by shearing.

rn it’s in playtesting so there might be bugs

yaypie remember my math calculations from your last Help post?

sadly I messed up because I assumed that gims move at 1 terrain/second, where in reality its around 5 t/s.

After recalculations the fastest you can reach the end is 19 seconds, so the timer should be around 30 seconds
